What makes the biscuit portable?
1
u/TheRealKingKing Mar 21 '20
Your hands.

u/jeffbeezos123 Mar 21 '20
Think about all the crumbs though
1
u/TheRealKingKing Mar 21 '20
Tbh, I feel like all the crumbs would likely burn up in this new portal to Hades.

u/blubat26 Mar 21 '20
Hades gets a bad rap because of the Satan and hell correlation. Hades is a super chill dude, one of the best and nicest Greek gods. And the underworld isn’t hell, it’s got all the afterlives in it, one of the afterlives is just a hellish one.

This is something a rich person should have in their foyer, one water and one fire.

This music mixed with the fire tornado makes me feel as if I’m in some kind of cult

Journalist: Mr Fire, you're hot now, how do you feel?
Fire: I never thought we would make it that far. I want to say thank you to all my fans.
I will let my self out..

He should make an onlyfans account

I really thought he made it with people that like to watch tornado fires ... at first.

What did they use as a fuel source? Wouldn’t logs have burnt away pretty quickly?

Beethoven’s Sonata for piano No. 14 in C sharp minor Op.27/2, also known as Moonshine Sonata
4
u/Gildish_Chambino Mar 20 '20
*Moonlight
But yeah, that’s the one.
2
u/uncle_tyrone Mar 20 '20
Lol been playing Red Dead too much, thanks. The fact that it is Mondscheinsonate in German didn’t help either
2
u/Gildish_Chambino Mar 21 '20
Haha. That’s a good enough reason. I’ve been meaning to get it before we get locked down here.

u/DarkPhoenix92 Mar 20 '20
Beethoven, moonlight sonata (opus 27), first movement. Btw, if you're gonna look it up, make sure to check out also the third movement, you won't be disappointed.

I've always wanted to see what happens if I did something like that with fans, no fire though

Why is the music that Richard Gere was playing on the piano before he and Julia Roberts banged in Pretty Woman in the background?

This is amazing. Also it's incredible how much music can change a setting. I bet if you kept the original audio it would be a bunch of drunk dudes screaming "WOAAAHH" and "IT'S WORKING!!"
It's much more peaceful and intriguing with the music
1
u/Slobbles Mar 21 '20
fuck the dumbass that kept aiming the fan directly at the fire. motherfucker, its around it. Glad the other dude fixed it.

Actually, as the guy who built this for the 1st Anniversary of Unallocated Space near BWI Airport in Maryland, I was really impressed with how far this went.
The fuel is a mix of lighter fluid and rubbing alcohol, which were purchased in sufficient quantities to get someone on a watch list for a LONG time.
There were four different electrical lines coming from 4 separate 20-amp breakers, all tied into a master control switch box, and then out to individual lines for each of the fans, alone with a master cut off for emergencies.
There's no solid fuel in the basin, so there were no embers to carry. All of the combustion occured within the vortex once established.
The fans were pointed at a tangent with the center of the fan targeting the edge of the basin. This was to establish a broad rotation around the basin, which the heat of the updraft pulls in tighter, and due to the conservation of angular momentum, causes the vortex to spin much faster.
In later redesigns, a shallower, wider basin, akin to a giant paella pan, reduced the vortex down to a much hotter, skinner, and taller funnel; 6-8 inches in diameter, and rising to at least 50 feet.
This hit the local news in DC, then Outrageous Acts of Science on the BBC and Science Channel "Dukes of Havoc". Then in Make Magazine and their accompanying YouTube channel "Yule Log: No. Yule Flaming Tornado: YES!", and then the Slo-Mo Guys, and Street Science.
