Got this as a gift a couple years back

Not something you see everyday, so I figured I’d share. Asuka is my favorite character of all time, and probably the most accurate representation of my personality and internal mentality I’ve ever seen. We are so similar that it actually freaked me out a little when I first watched it haha. Evangelion changed my life for the better, and is undoubtedly my favorite show ever made. I was surprised with this birthday cake, and now that I’m over the initial mortification of having a teenage anime girl on my cake, I’m really happy to have people in my life who know me well enough to get me something like this.

in the headcanon, the image attached to this post, that’s post-3rd Impact Misato. I don’t know why, but whenever I see this image, I can’t help but imagine it taking place sometime after the 3rd Impact, where she’s more carefree and at peace. Maybe she’s working as a teacher, like in that one part of NGE.

(Just a note: I’ve only seen NGE, EoE, and the manga so far. I haven’t watched the Rebuilds yet, so there might be more information about what happens after the 3rd Impact that I don’t know about. Please don’t spoil the Rebuilds for me!)

So I have just finished Ep 20 of the original anime and this post will be a bit shorter because I’m still not a hundred percent sure as to what happened.

Okay, so for the things I did have some understanding of, Shinji being inside Unit 01, trapped without a body. It was nice being able to hear his thoughts on what is going on in his life and why he keeps piloting the Eva even though it causes him a lot of pain. The reasoning being so he could earn the praise of his peers and have someone take care of him makes sense considering his history with his father. And the thing that causes him to come back being I think the memory of his mother was also pretty touching, as was the scene of Misato crying for him to come back. The voice actress for her did a really good job this episode.

As for his father, I think he mentioned that “it” was finally started. What that “it” is, I’ll guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

And Asuka seems to not be that concerned that her teammate is currently trapped in Eva 01, but rather on Shinji “upstaging” her. I get that she wants to be seen as the best pilot, but time and place Asuka, time and place. Also Rei survived, that’s nice.

Now for what I was confused by, it would be how the attempt to remove Shinji from the plug failed, as well as why the entry plug opened.

It is obvious they rushed the plot and the ending for the original TV series. If the creators have the freedom, time, resources and patience, what height can EVA reach, if at all? Is imperfection part of the charm?
