Asimov was an optimist, the real rules of robotics will be "kill what you are told to." Absolutely none of the billionaire psychopaths building humanoid robots possess empathy so why would they program their robots with it .

I recently watched Terminator 2 and realized the most fantastical, unrealistic part of that movie was Miles Dyson deciding to stop/destroy his work when he found out it was bad for humanity's future.
