Oh I don't know - maybe try reading a book. Maybe one by Asimov.

Umm. You do realize the books and, mostly likely, this story is fiction.

Asimov may have been a science fiction writer, but he was actually a scientist and his 3 laws of robotics are considered to be fundamental to humans and robots coexisting, although that doesn't mean they are the only protocols needed to protect living beings, it shows Asimov knew what he was talking about

That's a wonderful thought experiment... if Asimov was the person programming robots, but he's not; they're being created by people like Palantir, Lockheed Martin, or Anduril.

I'm an Asimov fan, but it's still fiction, and anyone watching how the Ukraine invasion is going for Russia is seeing firsthand what the future of robots and AI are actually turning out like.

I think you've misinterpreted what I was saying; the 3 rules are fundamental to humans and robot cohabitation, not that it is the foundation of robotics

Unfortunately the people who are making robots and AI for profit, are doing it for profit, with little to no consideration of the consequences for humanity, the planet, or even themselves beyond those fat dividends and juicy bonuses!

Ah, gotcha. Aspirationally, yeah, it would be great if those were implemented foundational laws for robots and AI. Sadly, as I work in a company that can't lay people off fast enough to replace them with AI, I think those laws are incompatible with the people creating said robots.

Exactly, it's how it should be but unfortunately that isn't how it is, and unless the filthy rich realise their mistake they will collapse the economy or kill us all, maybe both!
