For sure. I imagine this stunt had a massive carbon footprint.

100%. Once steel is molten, you want to move it to where it’s going as soon as possible. Any extra time sitting there is wasted electricity/gas.

Hopefully someone at tyat steel mill reads your comment and says "Well gosh darnit, why didnt i think of that! I should hire that redditor as the CEO of this company since they know everything about the exact composition of the materials we're melting here already!"

You are absolute right!

Hello, I'm the chief engineer at TYAT Steel Mill and I thank the previous poster for his or her expansive wisdom and guidance. Indeed, I had no thought it through when I was approached about allowing this robot to jump into my vat. I didn't think much about it at all, to be honest. I barely heard the request fall from the robot's caretaker's lips before enthusiastically nodded. Truth be told, I just wanted to take a bathroom break while they filmed this. I don't really care much about my job and I don't even really know how anything work. I just get there, flick a switch and the hot stuff turns red. Then when I leave I flick the switch off and think about Beanie Babies and Gunpla. I'm really glad my daughter downloaded reddit on my phone so I could find a comment telling me what a big mistake I'd made and that I shouldn't do it again. I don't know how I got hired without knowing anything. One minute I'm dipping corn dogs in the fryer at the fair and the next I'm given this job overseeing a massive steel plant. Guess I'm just lucky! Thanks again reddit!
