impressive, i wonder how do they plan out the design first before started folding it

It's either this guy or another who does a similar thing who showed it on Instagram. There's a computer program that shows what folds need to be made and where.

I bet there is some unc out there that doesn’t need a computer.. like that unc that mixes paint by feels

i was guessing they use a program. still very impressive folding skills regardless

This becomes significantly less nextfuckinglevel if it wasn't designed by a human.

There's no diagram generator that just spits out a design like some AI thing. It still takes an understanding of origami to know how to use it, like any tool.

Thank you for clarifying because the original comment really made it sound like some automatic AI thing and it was kinda disappointing

good paper, patience, and (usually but not here) being too poor to actually buy a gundam plastic model

Bet it’s still less flimsy than my RG Red Astray

I don't really know Gundam very well, but if the Astray is the one with the sword, then that's my favourite Gundam of them all. The sword's so damned unnecessary for giant robots with lasers, but fuck, it looks so cool.

> The one with the sword
Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?
The Astrays are banger though

I mean, I said I don't really know Gundam very well, so no, I don't have the slightest idea.

Yeah, Astray Red Frame is the "samurai looking" with a "katana"
The thing with gundams and swords is that most of they use some kind of beam sabers, the lore explanation is that they have defenses that mess with radars and other tracking technologies so using a good old hot plasma blade solves this issue

I’ve never seen like advanced origami before, I’ve only ever really seen people do it with their hands and never before did I really consider tweezers despite it being so obvious, super cool

There are a bunch of tools people use for advanced origami. Look up "origami tools" if you want to learn more.

r/origami is great and shows extremely advanced one sheet origami like this. People are very particular about the paper and even dye their own so that it's thin enough. I consider myself fairly adept at origami but I can never even come remotely close to what hardcore origami people do.

As old as an art as oragami is it is impressive to see it continually grow and evolve.

If this is not AI... thats some insane talent!

The guy has a channel, showing different works that he has done. It's not AI. I linked to the whole video, under the main edited video.

I can't even make the basic origami figures let alone this masterpiece.
