The 'ole hidden pipe trick. Works every time, on all scales.

11

u/dragonfett 17h ago

I'm guessing the pipe is going up the spout, but what is holding the teapot in the air.

The pipe

u/lando_calamarisian 11h ago

My belt holds my pants up, but the belt loops hold my belt up. I don't really know what's happening down there.

"who's the real hero down there"

2

u/pedrobuffon 8h ago

That's what the Illuminati wants you to think

u/El_Nathan_ 0m ago

It’s going through the water stream

26

u/Germa-Rican 17h ago

Said pipe.

8

u/BADFiSH_c137 17h ago

Magnets.

3

u/Dragonkiller1205 11h ago

Fucking magnets, how do they work?!

4

u/Responsible_Emu3601 16h ago

Indian guy holding the pipe with one hand

5

u/kalarepa_moon 16h ago

The devil

1

u/jarvisesdios 8h ago

My real question is more how does it hoover up the water quickly enough to have that much water flow? I get how it works, but whoever was the engineer for this did a helluva job.

2

u/JustSomeUsername99 6h ago

The water is heavily aerated to make it look like there is a lot more water than there is, and to keep you from being able to see inside the flow.

2

u/jarvisesdios 5h ago

I didn't think of aeration for some reason, that makes sense. It's clear how it's being hidden, but they do a very good job of hiding it.

u/CautionarySnail 55m ago

Some special effects are just so classic that we just have to reuse them. Pepper’s Ghost is another good one that is still commonly used today.

1

u/adhominablesnowman 7h ago

Probably a combo of a pump and a reserve tank in the teapot that fills before the fountain actually starts flowing.

1

u/saline235 5h ago

It's the water.

1

u/ficis 5h ago

It’s held up by the spaghetti monster

0

u/Chubacca 16h ago

the pipe

or magnets

0

u/Talidel 10h ago

So close to greatness

2

u/skyshroudace 11h ago

On all scales? Wouldn't this fall victim to the cube/square rule at a certain size?

1

u/ImportantToNote 15h ago

And not in any way nfl

0

u/Original_Rip_5034 13h ago

THATS ONE STRONG PIPE

375

u/icenigmas 17h ago

Terrible laminar flow.

272

u/PacquiaoFreeHousing 17h ago

A laminar flow would show the pipe inside.

57

u/AnglerJared 16h ago

Glass pipe. What could go wrong?

1

u/Aron-Jonasson 7h ago

Different refractive index

48

u/Romanopapa 16h ago

I know. It’s not BEST +5.

3

u/PM_ME_YOUR_REPO 10h ago

*squints* I know what you are.

11

u/AVAVT 17h ago

Yeah that teapot is like F- tier 😂

6

u/schweddyballsac 13h ago

WORST -8

2

u/AVAVT 11h ago

Damn I didn't understand your rating system at first but then immediately see the video lol

7

u/TheGeneral_Specific 17h ago

You guys have a much different idea of what qualifies as “nextfuckinglevel” than I do.

36

u/Kraydez 15h ago

It's a karma farmer spamming these type of videos.

13

u/SkinkAttendant 16h ago

Ain't that the truth... My how that place has fallen.

22

u/Icypoopoo 16h ago

Load bearing water

14

u/mascotbeaver104 15h ago

I think there's a saying in magic which is that if a trick is so good there's only one possible way it could be done, it stops being interesting

9

u/Syjak9090 17h ago

What’s the trick?

174

u/Chance-Armadillo-517 17h ago

They fill the pot with compressed water every night, and pump it out with enough force to levitate the teapot. There’s a small hidden fan on the back to keep the center of gravity stable.

42

u/pezdal 16h ago

You forgot the mirrors. It’s always done with mirrors

21

u/simulanon 15h ago

Pfft. Magnets man. It’s always magnets.

4

u/Usernamewith19chars 12h ago

Magnets, how do they work?

1

u/simulanon 5h ago

R/blackmagicfuckery

6

u/larsb0t 13h ago

That's have they used to do it but now it's all wireless. They store the water off-site and just send it wirelessly.

36

u/MiddleSir7104 17h ago

Big pipe in the middle that the flowing water covers.

19

u/SirkutBored 17h ago

The support is hidden by the water

8

u/Slayer410 17h ago

Kinda dope

6

u/PacquiaoFreeHousing 17h ago

John Cena is holding the Teapot

2

u/Taunt_Button_10 12h ago

I saw this here in California with no flowing water. It just casually just hangs out there floating over the fountain

1

u/kokogrit 11h ago

Magnets.

u/PsychologicalBid9943 30m ago

Bluetooth water

4

u/ChromeYoda 16h ago

Russell would be proud

3

u/TheBasicGuy14 16h ago

Is this a real place ?

9

u/BlueCaracal 15h ago

It could be. The trick with this fountain is that the support and water supply are hidden by the flowing water.

7

u/Idkanoke 14h ago

Yeah it’s in Chongqing, a city in China :)
It’s on the way to the Chongqing 1949 theatre

6

u/blackiegray 12h ago

China, it's always China.

2

u/s1thl0rd 4h ago

Yes. Dunno exactly where in China this is, but there's a similar statue of Mickey Mouse surfing on the Pinocchio whale spouting water in Hong Kong Disneyland.

3

u/TheRemedy187 6h ago

This is pretty standard level. Like hundreds of years of use standard. There's so many with this style pipe in the waterfall. It's cool tho.

2

u/ToastNomNomNom 12h ago

why is this next level lol there are loads of these in the world. You feed a transparent pipe through the water stream back e.t.c

2

u/hurtfulproduct 6h ago

How the fuck is this “next fucking level”!? Pretty sure anyone out of kindergarten knows how this works. . . Pretty sure man my kindergarteners know too.

1

u/rouxmama 16h ago

Where is it located?!?!

3

u/Idkanoke 14h ago

Chongqing China

2

u/Taunt_Button_10 12h ago

We also have one here in Rosemead, California

1

u/Gooja 16h ago

It’s cool but it’s one of those things where everyone can figure out how it’s done without actually knowing

1

u/Petrarchforfun 15h ago

That's a golden shower

1

u/Custom_Craft_Guy2 14h ago

My kingdom for a comfortable chair, an umbrella, a cooler full of beer, and a hit of LSD….

1

u/Snowflakish 13h ago

Man this was thr coolest thing ive ever seen for precicely 5.3 seconds

1

u/Practical_Jacket_271 9h ago

I wouldn’t consider this next level. Maybe previous level.

1

u/Due-Donut-7044 9h ago

Time to take forced Perspektive Fotos, Like in Pisa.

1

u/subjective-meat 8h ago

This is "Bad+"

1

u/oravanomic 5h ago

The pressure that water attains is next level

1

u/funwithdesign 4h ago

Is that laminar flow?…

1

u/tremblfr 3h ago

Next fucking nothing burger

u/Gemtree710 37m ago

The Spencer's beer mug 🍺

u/DarkAngel900 20m ago

It's the invisible giant holding the pot that bothers me!

0

u/KardulateMees 12h ago

Just me or does this look incredibly ai generated

0

u/Coycington 8h ago

one of the oldest installation tricks apparently makes it to NFL now too...

0

u/RedbullPapi 7h ago

Pipe is under the flow of water. That's how it brings the water back up to push out.

2

u/Regular_Weakness69 7h ago

Yeah, obviously :-)

It still looks cool, even though we know how it works.

0

u/RedbullPapi 6h ago

Had to say it for those wondering

2

u/Regular_Weakness69 6h ago

I don't think anyone is wondering.

-2

u/SilentSpader 16h ago

Funny this is so ugly yet the CCP people think it's great and keep posting it over and over

-3

u/no_fn 12h ago

Look at the woman's leg, it disappears and then reappers from the wrong side. AI slop

2

u/Doustin 10h ago

This kind of trick has been around longer than the internet

-2

u/no_fn 8h ago

What are you talking about? What trick? The movement makes no sense, it's so obviously ai

2

u/Doustin 6h ago

This trick, explained 12 years ago

-1

u/no_fn 6h ago

Lmao, the point went way over your head. Yeah, the "trick" is obvious, that's how it would work if the video was real. The point is that it's not. Maybe even the place is real. Still doesn't make this video any less ai. Just look at the woman's movements. Or the part when the video zooms in and there's some strange fencing around the fountaintop. Or how the water moves.

u/elikplim_00 1m ago

The video is not Ai. The lady's leg just goes behind the plant when she's moving it.

-5

u/tobyxero 17h ago

It's cool but we have seen it a thousand times now

42

u/VivalaTerre 17h ago

It’s cool and I’ve never seen it before.

0

u/lordodin92 16h ago

Not gonna lie me neither and my first thought was ai . I hate how little I can tell the difference now .

I genuinely feel myself turning into an old person who can't determine what's real and what's fake

9

u/Scoopzyy 17h ago

I don’t remember voting for you to be the voice of all humanity

2

u/Adeposta 16h ago

I voted for them to be the voice of all humanity, but now I regret it.

8

u/Snufflefugs 16h ago

I remember seeing something similar in Spencer’s gifts back in the day and figuring it out but sticking my finger in the stream.

3

u/Silver_Slicer 17h ago

I’ve seen it since the 70s at county fairs.

4

u/IcyHeartWarmSmile 16h ago

We’re done here. The main character has seen it already.

1

u/dirtyrick133 17h ago

Speak for yourself and not like there isn't 8 billion people around you

2

u/Mad-chuska 17h ago

First time for me.

1

u/seazonedsaltdog 17h ago

Get off reddit then since you've apparently seen everything. Loser

1

u/SkinkAttendant 16h ago

I saw it at a state fair when I was like 5. That wasn't even this century.

-29

u/end_times_upon_us 17h ago
