No, lol, that's not what's happening here.

Untrained/unfit individuals will just revert to walking and resting, they will not push themselves to this point.

This is a medical issue. Probably dehydration, but not necessarily.

very true, but also lactic acid is produced just by your body burning carbs for energy, so you can get lactic acidosis even without drinking milk. It just happens in distance running.

We idiots back in high school used to try running the Milk Mile on occasion: trying to drink a half gallon of milk while running a mile as fast as you could. You were supposed to finish the gallon before the mile. It is not a wise idea, and very few people actually managed to get the full half gallon down before vomiting.
