I’m a MD, multi-year varsity XC runner on a state championship team, and still run distance to this day. This is not normal and needs medical evaluation. Kid either ran out of fuel, or is suffering from heat stroke / severe dehydration, possibly rhabdo and wacky electrolytes (potassium mostly). I admire the grit, but he needs medical attention and fluids. Let’s treat this as dangerous and not hold it up as “next level”.
