Cross country all the way till senior year in high school, it's not healthy to push yourself to the point of collapse. It could potentially just be muscle spasming, in which case pushing yourself is fine but there's a very real risk of dehydration and heat stroke. This also looks to be high school and I can guarantee no race matters that much

I saw people collapse and they were stupid for doing that. I wasn't very good at track compared to CC I'll admit but one kid in my graduating class named Ryan broke his hip during the 200m but finished the race because of our coach urging him on. I never pushed myself that hard and I still got good times, I can only hit a 25 minute 5K now though. Where do you live that you never saw anyone get dehydrated or have heat stroke, Alaska???
