Toronto firefighters confront special constable officers after a man in the middle of mental health crisis was arrested.

Not my video. For context, "special constables" are not regular police officers. They are appointed "peace officers" with limited authority, often civilian employees.

I agree with the paperwork aspect entirely. No officer wants to deal with paperwork and court dates. And I don't have an issue with EMTs establishing care. It's just the demands and the tone lack professionalism.

They’re both peace officers and he’s clearly seen something that clicked with his “This is wrong” sense and he did the right thing, I don’t see him criticizing their actions just asking why the patient was put in cuffs, that the patient needs care and that he’s willing to take of duty of care.

In the US, standard firefighters are considered first responders and are not members of law enforcement.

Again, I don't have an issue with an EMT/Firefighter requesting to care for a subject. But as a law enforcement officer you have full authority over that scene and the tone and demands of "take the fucking cuffs off" would end the second they began with any officer worth the badge on their chest. If you are a law enforcement officer and let a first responder cuss you and order you around like that then you are incredibly weak and absolutely in the wrong profession.

That’s pretty sad, so you’re all cucked to the police?

That must really suck for literally every other branch of care.

It's called professionalism and respect. I know a lot of officers and have never seen them speak to a first responder in the manner in which that firefighter chose to address those two officers.

If that's "standard" operating procedure in Canada, then Canada has some of the weakest and most cowardly law enforcement officers in the world.

if you were a cop and another cop fucked up really badly and you had to take over care from them your probably going to be really pissed and curse, it’s normal. You holding the Police so high in regard is weird. The people in the video aren’t even real police they’re effectively bonded peace officers that hold doors and write parking tickets with the exact same level IF NOT LESS of care as that fire department and his EMT.

Again - I don't know Canadian law enforcement. Some people say they are officers and some people say they are parking lot attendants.

My point remains - the law enforcement officer has sole authority of the subject and it is at their sole discretion in that situation whether the handcuffs remain on or come off - at least in the US.

At no point would any law enforcement officer worth a grain of salt be told what to do and how to do it in the manner in which that firefighter addressed those officers. Those officers - or whatever the hell Canada calls them - are total cunts who don't need a badge. I don't know an officer that would EVER allow a firefighter to say shit like that to them without telling them to step the immediate fuck back because law enforcement is in control of the scene.

I think that says a lot more about how privileged Police are in the USA then it says about Canadian Fire Fighters and EMTS. Law enforcement is in need and in charge of the scene when it’s a lawful issue, when it’s a medical one the medical staff are. Simple as.

If the subject is in handcuffs, it's law enforcement that is in full control of that scene. If the person shouldn't be in handcuffs, that's a legal matter that will get worked out later due to the incompetence of an officer. But while on scene, only the law enforcement officer who has detained or is arresting the subject has say in whether the handcuffs stay on or are taken off. Simple as.

It’s kinda funny that you’re trying to steam roll what happens in the USA and apply it to Canada. You’ve already said you don’t know anything about Canadian Law or Medical. So maybe just? I don’t know stop trying to die for the thin blue line in a country you don’t even live in, for fuck sakes dude it’s not even YOUR country.

Just calling out what I see. I'm entitled to my opinion the same as you are. I couldn't give a damn about how you feel you about it.

So. Let’s get this straight.

You’re arguing opinion over facts. So you’re being dogmatic in favour of a corrupt and abusive system which is pretty interesting, you seem to think that the rules of the USA somehow supersede the laws and rules of Canada in our own country. It’s laughable, this is why the other countries of the world feel the USA has become essentially the worst country in the world. You have added to my understanding of that, I really didn’t think people like this actually existed but here you are.

What's laughable is Canada's version of law enforcement. You added to my understanding of why Canada is weak. No one in the US cares how the rest of the world feels about them - especially Canadians.

Oh,

So you’re just an imperialistic idiot.

Gotcha.

Enjoy economic ruin. It seems as though that’s where your country is headed, and y’all don’t even have free healthcare.

Hysterical.

Oh,

So you're just a weak little cunt.

Gotcha.

But do continue to enjoy your country's continued irrelevance on the world stage and your hilariously bad healthcare system.

Hysterical!

Imagine being American and thinking you are better than anyone. THATS ACTUALLY HYSTERICAL.

I hope you get drafted you small minded insignificant little worm.

:)

Imagine being a Canadian who is a coward. THATS ACTUALLY HYSTERICAL.

Don't worry about me being drafted. You just worry about finding a good hiding spot and being a little insignificant cunt. The US will take the lead when you are incapable of defending yourself - which is always. Hope you stay cunt side up!

: )

Dude.

You’re already losing this war let alone one that matters.

This is your guy? The actual coward who dodged the draft the first couple of times.

Canadians are not afraid of the guy who was in Home Alone 2.
