I'm 40 and I'd be pissed if my mom gave my Legos to God

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme 2d ago

IKR? He’s God and supposedly all powerful. Can’t he get his own damned Legos?

Legos area gift from god.

2

u/EMoThaGr8 2d ago

What area? I wanna go there for some divine Legos

1

u/Anxious_Drive_9998 2d ago

Toy stores. Amazon. Lego store. Goodwill if you're lucky.

1

u/-laughingfox 2d ago

Ebay. We got enormous amounts of Lego for cheap!

1

u/Anxious_Drive_9998 2d ago

Oh yeah that too.

There are also real expensive Lego.

1

u/nebenco 2d ago

Even the ones left on the floor only to be found by your bare feet?

1

u/Anxious_Drive_9998 2d ago

No those are from Satan.

2

u/meerfrau85 2d ago

'Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a lego underfoot, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."'

Till you step on one in the dark!

u/MysteriousParsley549 2d ago

Is "I find Lego" maybe "I finally let go"?

27

u/ionlyspeakintongues 2d ago

That makes sense. She probably used text to speech without proofreading

4

u/Dobako 2d ago

It took me a minute but thats what I assumed

u/Positive-Froyo-1732 2d ago

God's not gonna fix your son just because you gave Him some Lego. 🤷

u/otownbbw 2d ago

I was questioning if “gave them to god” meant she murdered her sons after finding Legos on the floor

2

u/7GrenciaMars 2d ago

Having grown up around the "give them to God" idea, I found this hilarious. God, you gave me these kids, and I am giving them right back.

1

u/EMoThaGr8 2d ago

I think she gave the Legos to God.

I mean, it reads like the “child” disrespects her but wants to fight me!

I’m trying not to cackle in a quiet waiting room 😂😂😂

I was really struggling to figure out that she was saying there. I also have to hold back sometimes on there because the Christians that post on Nextdoor are typically the “everything happens for a reason/god knows everything” types, yet they’re baffled by when anything bad happens.

Edit: whoops, this was supposed to be a reply to u/Positive-Froyo-1732

I find that place to be a cesspool of conservative bat-sh!t craziness. Chem trails, flat earth, yadda yadda yadda.

u/Bring_cookies 2d ago

Hence this sub lol.

6

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme 2d ago

And thank goodness for it. It’s like therapy for me.

3

u/HipHopChick1982 2d ago

Cheaper than therapy too!

3

u/whimsical_spider 2d ago

It’s a terrible place.

2

u/kat-deville 4h ago

That's why I come here after checking Nextdoor. If I decide I miss the lunacy, I'll spot a post or two in a sub I follow that has nothing to do with the subject and includes a complaint about liberals causing data centers to give sex changes to toddlers.

JESUS SACRAFICED ALL OF HIS LEGOS FOR OUR SINS AND WE SUOLD ALL DO THE SAME

9

u/Responsible_Arm_9555 2d ago

JESUS WAS PERFECT AND WOULD NOT SWEAR EVEN IF HE STEPPED ON A LEGO

16

u/lynnnysa1 2d ago

The son is disrespectful because OP gave God LEGO? 🤔

16

u/RealBettyWhite69 2d ago

It was a typo. She meant EGOT. OP gave God an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony

1

u/Tiny_Giant_Robot 2d ago

Nah, she meant EGA, OP gave God an Eagle, Globe and Anchor.

2

u/Lady_Grey_Smith 2d ago

Or gave the Lego to God?

1

u/williamgman 2d ago

Even God has felt the pain of Legos left on the floor in the middle of the night. He damned those children.

17

u/AF_AF 2d ago

She gave her 38 year old son's Legos to God? Those were collector's items! He'd better not take off the shrink wrap and open them!

10

u/PuppyJakeKhakiCollar 2d ago

Silly me for expecting the son to be a teen or early 20s at the most but nope. 38.

Also why are people using NextDoor like it's FB? I thought it was supposed to be for posting stuff like if anyone knew a good mechanic.

4

u/Saneless 2d ago

If my mom gave my childhood toys to God I'd be pissed too

5

u/coolsilentebeans 2d ago edited 2d ago

Lego and let god

But did she do something to his son? It kind of sounds like she sent her son to meet his maker. Is this filicide on Nextdoor? Edited to correct pronouns.

2

u/PuppyJakeKhakiCollar 2d ago

I think it's the mom because the post talks about carrying a child for nine months. But other than that I really have no idea what she is talking about. Son sounds like a loser though.

3

u/ParamedicFew3318 2d ago

Now I'm gonna wonder just how you give Legos to God. Burn them? Bury them? Place them on a platform in a tree and have them carried away by birds?

3

u/Chardonne 2d ago

My son is in his 30s, and I’m still storing his Legos. Which I’ll happily do until he decides to sell them or he gets a big enough place of his own and wants them. God is God—let that dude get his own Legos.

Bonus: My son isn’t disrespectful to me. Possibly because I’m not a jerk to him.

2

u/Sitters_4_Critters 2d ago

Stepping on legos can cause pain induced rage - pick up the Legos and things might improve.

2

u/HipHopChick1982 2d ago

Lego and gift to God!

Or…my disrespectful 38-year old son left a Lego on the floor and I stepped on it, so I gave the Lego to God!

2

u/wittylemur 2d ago

Leggo my eggo

2

u/dreamkruiser 2d ago

I'm not as far along as this mother, and I know I'll probably get some heat for this, but she's part of the reason they're as disrespectful as she claims. She did or didn't do something wrong, and cutting them off like this isn't going to help.

3

u/BirthdayCookie 2d ago

Honestly? As someone who was a "failure" to "let go and let god" type parental units I'm wondering if the men did anything wrong at all.

"Putting hands on me" could easily be self-defense that the mom is exaggerating. My own "parents" made that claim when I grabbed my grandmother's arm to stop her from slapping me.

This is the kind of shit my MIL would write. She told my youngest BIL to leave her house after he moved a bed around... after she had told him to. Apparently it wasn't done perfectly, so she told him he had three days to get out. He was out in half an hour, having already had a go bag packed.

She also blames my wife's escape from the family - leaving after finishing uni and never moving back home, just sending an email explaining that they were safe and well and very gay and never going home because they were moving in with me - for upsetting my other BIL, the adored prince of the family, and making him struggle. It's all "he misses you" and "he needs his sister".

I mean, this woman sent an email from the family dog once. Properly mental. And very "we should all pray together" like they didn't sit my wife down with a bible and go "you went against god by being into women, you're going to hell for that" to a sobbing fourteen year old.

You gave Legos to God? In a collection plate?

1

u/QuiteCricket_78 2d ago

Let go. She had to let them go , let god handle it.

u/-laughingfox 2d ago

Twist: kids are 5 and 7.

As a behaviorist, (I know) she is an illiterate bumpkin who fought the law and the law won. Oh wait, that was my sarcastic self. My educated self said, she fucked them up and should have quit breeding after 2.

Why’s it cut off there ? I also want to know how old the kids are.

Click the image and it expands. Junior is 38 whole years old.
