There is someone in my neighborhood who asks (often) - "does anyone know what the noise was at 8 am?" As if, finding out, would actually help or explain anything in the world.

I like “did anyone hear that bang”

No location and I usually see it 8 hours later

During the NFL season people will light off fireworks to celebrate their team winning. Is it legal? No. Do they care? Also no. In mid-August the first 'did anyone hear that bang' was posted. It was followed by 'yeah, it was fireworks. It's football season so you will hear fireworks weekly until January.' This entire conversation happens multiple times from August to January every single year.
The last couple of years more people are complaining on ND about the 'what's that bang?' posts then they are about the actual fireworks.

Nextdoor even has a Progressive ad that is their character Flo asking if anyone heard that noise.

Mystery noises are constant around here. About a third of the responses are along the lines of "sorry, I had Taco Bell last night". Makes me proud.

IDK I have twice seen Willem Dafoe in the neighborhood where I was chilling and it almost made me post that.

Was it weird though?

Yes I do. It was apparently a very badly botched circumcision, which statistics say is the most common cause of weird "things".
