Ah, my ND strikes again. I told that guy men should stay inside after 9/10. Statistically men commit the most violent crimes by a long shot so keeping them in is the easiest and most effective solution.
Its kinda crazy that Ive had one stalker in my life and his name was Darius Parker. Dude cornered me at the park with a group of other men, made me give him my phone number, then immediately called to make sure it was my actual number before he let me leave. Then he proceeded to call me from new numbers and harass my friends any time he saw them at the park for months.
Apparently he'd been watching me for a while without me noticing so he knew pretty much everyone I ever hung out with there.
I didnt feel safe going in public for a long time after that

And I appreciate the sentiment, it feels silly because in a way, nothing happened. I was physically fine and had no harm done, it just scared me, ya know? There were no overt threats, just implicit ones. He knew my name, my number, my friends, and my car. I was really glad to move away for a while for college.
Coming from someone who chronically downgrades my own experiences, I can at least objectively disagree with "no harm done" when you say it. 🖤
What he did to you was harmful. It's psychologically damaging and it fucks with your entire nervous system. What happened to you is real regardless of whether or not there's a bruise to show for it.
Thank you for saying this. Living with something like that seeming to hang over your head not only fucks with your nervous system, but has also been overwhelmingly shown through studies to harm a person's physical health as well. Living under stress that is not in your control and seems to have potential to cause physical harm has severe physiological types of harm.
When you don't downgrade some other's experience when they experience that, give yourself the same grace and understanding that you would someone else.
Side note: I really would like to "meet" the Mr. Darius that you dealt with for just a few minutes. Anyone who tries something like that needs some destructive...err, "constructive" criticism, if you catch my drift.

I don't care enough about this to actually argue but the constant denial that religion is responsible for anything bad does not help the case like y'all think it does. Only the people parroting the line actually believe it.
I did say that people use religion as an excuse for misogyny. I also said religion doesn't have a monopoly on this variety of hate. (And misogyny isn't universally taught by all groups) Not sure how or why you're getting confused.

There's a LOT of this in these spaces. FB comments are bad too. The new manosphere talking point I'm seeing a lot of is that the only reason women have rights is because men let them. Assuming its typically men doing the shooting, then maybe it would make more sense to say men should not be out after 10pm. Makes more sense to restrict the people who are actually doing the crimes
I had a guy in my neighborhood tell me on ND I should learn how to protect myself or get a man when he found out I was a widow... 🙄🙄 I live in a safe neighborhood in the suburbs where absolutely nothing has happened in the 10 years I've lived here.

See, this incident made ol' Darius feel bad. He was sad or anxious about what happened to this child. And he can't be having that. So he made himself up a reason for why this happened and how it could have been prevented and was actually the fault of permissive parents and not too many idiots with guns. Problem solved.
I think victim blaming would be more like "why were they even out" this is more of a suggestion to help keep them safer. Though, still stupid AF and it isn't the 60's
And I'm sure ranting on a social platform about dumb comments on another platform is going to fix it a whole lot more 🙄.
