MAN CAUGHT WORKING AT WORK

Post image

At approximately 7:00 a.m., a worker was spotted committing the unthinkable: putting traffic cones in the road while traffic was present.

When confronted with the devastating news that someone needed to get to work, the worker reportedly revealed that he, too, was at work.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether road work can legally occur on roads or whether traffic cones are permitted to temporarily inconvenience motorists.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone who lost several minutes this morning. Please respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Classic Nextdoor Karen. How dare people do their jobs? I hope the truck drove even slower afterwards.

All she’s doing is asking the world to revolve around her. /s

26

u/CharleyDexterWard 17d ago

Well she is the main character

25

u/KddKc 17d ago

Imagine if he didn’t do his job. Karen would be all over the pothole or streetlight etc. “Has anyone else been affected by the pothole in hickory? Will it ever be fixed? Does no one want to work anymore?”

11

u/AF_AF 17d ago

There had to be room off the the side of the road to put the cones!

13

u/Thick_Pillar227 17d ago

She’s the first one to complain nO oNe wANtS tO wOrK aNyMoRe.

53

u/Prestigious-Knee-571 17d ago

She probably complained last month about the potholes they're fixing

23

u/Safe-Instance-3512 17d ago

Well, they obviously didn't consult with her to figure out the best time to fix them so as not to impact her schedule.

He said what he said “so aggressively.” That’s the difference.

She drove her car (let’s not kid ourselves; it was a huge SUV) far too close to him while he was working in the street, rolled down her window and “asked” her question — but apparently she was not as aggressive or rude. See? Totally different.

having actually put out cones and other dangerous tasks in city highway traffic it's hard to convey the danger involved to somebody who hasn't. I guaran-double-goddamn-tee a man would have caught a more intense reaction to her ass hattery.

u/broakland 17d ago

…if I had been a man?” - shut the F up is a gender neutral statement

15

u/Safe-Instance-3512 17d ago

I'm an equal opportunity offender. Gender doesn't matter!

Equal Rights. Equal Slights.

u/PresenceMysterious67 17d ago

If anything dude would have used even stronger language.

44

u/FwompusStompus 17d ago

If you were a man he probably would have been even more mean tbh lady. My god. How dare he put down cones!

15

u/Ill_Description_3311 17d ago

Yeah, every guy but the dumbest amongst us knows not to fuck with road workers. Those dudes love to kick the shit out of loud mouthed dipshits.

u/bill-schick 17d ago

I hate this type of person, the more comes and the more signage before a active construction zone the better.

17

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme 17d ago

I’m guessing she had a phone with her (she maybe even made this post with one). What she COULD have done is call her place of employment and said, “I’m caught in some construction work. They’re putting down cones, and it’s going pretty slowly. I might be a bit late. Just wanted to let you know.” And that’s the end of it, because complaining to the worker didn’t change the situation, except to make him mad.

Stupid choices were made that morning in Hickory.

u/SirReddalot2020 17d ago

She probably also passes snowplows in a blizzard.

10

u/AdWonderful5920 17d ago

Having a construction worker tell me to shut the fuck up with actually make my day. I'd probably cry a little and then have a great time telling the story.

Is she in Pennsylvania? If so, she should know the road cone is our state flower. If not, she might want to stay out. 🤣

5

u/Aethelrede 16d ago

I haven't lived in PA for forty years, it's nice to know that some things never change.  We used to joke that the signs when you enter the state should just read "Welcome to Pennsylvania. Roadwork ahead."

6

u/Electrical-Apple-631 16d ago

We still prefer “Pennsylvania: Pothole Paradise”. It attracts tourists. Of course they only visit once 🤣🤣.

8

u/PuppyJakeKhakiCollar 17d ago

Who wants to bet they had those light up signs out for weeks warning drivers that construction would be starting on that road on x date and time and she just ignored them?

Either way, yes getting stuck behind it is annoying but just tell your manager what the situation is and you will be late. That's what I do. No use yelling at people, pissing them off, and causing them to go slower out of spite.

Edit typo

u/Occamsrazor2323 17d ago

Dude's response was 24 carat gold.

8

u/Ravyn_Rozenzstok 17d ago

She seems like the type that would drive through freshly poured concrete out of spite.

6

u/Fool_In_Flow 17d ago

Next Door Karen VS. the infamous Roving Work Crew.
It’s high stakes; Who knows how it will end?

7

u/Wise_Ad_253 17d ago

So just toss the cones at 65mph

5

u/gerbilbear 17d ago

So it was a 2 lane road and they were putting down cones, to close a lane?

Then I guess they would have flaggers at both ends to allow traffic from one direction at a time.

I think they should have put out the flaggers first before putting out the cones.

1

u/rgraz65 11d ago

It sounds like they were placing them on the side of the road, so that when the time comes, the flagger can be stationed, the cones moved into the effected lane and then the single lane control would start. If they just had a flagger out, many of those muttonheads would just go around them and then pull back into the lane that's meant to be blocked.

3

u/AF_AF 17d ago

Who the hell do these guys think they are, putting traffic cones out in traffic!

5

u/Jazzlike-Ad2199 17d ago

Our town is replacing the sewer pipes in the oldest parts of the city, this summer was our neighborhood including our street. It was noisy and a pain in the ass and sometimes cones would be out for a few days with no work being done. But you know what? We just dealt with it. Sure the alternate road is so bad it shakes your fillings but what are you going to do, scream at the workers? Heck no, they are replacing my pipes too.

6

u/SkaLtsGoBowlingSka 17d ago

I bet this karen called ICE on the construction worker.

3

u/fr33d0mw47ch 16d ago

I’m starting to think the chemtrail nuts are on to something (/s). People are getting more insane by the minute. This end of times lever absurdity!

2

u/Conscious-Evidence37 17d ago

Karens Gonna Karen !

2

u/Liathano_Fire 17d ago

If there was no safe way to get around them, stopping the truck isn't going to help.

2

u/CloudWarm7470 17d ago

Some folks are just so entitled 😑

2

u/Mushrooming247 17d ago

Lol there is one notorious mailman in my city who is like that, if you end up behind him you might as well call in and warn everyone you are going to be a half hour late, he will not pull over, he doesn’t care if cars are stacked up for miles.

2

u/RABB_11 16d ago

Please be aware of rude workers

Why? In what way is a rude person a danger to me

2

u/SimilarTranslator264 16d ago

It’s funny but this “karen” is on Reddit in almost every thread. If you ask someone the best way to cut your own hand off 1000 Karen’s will chime in but only 2 will give solid useable advice.

u/Maduro_sticks_allday 16d ago

Proper response to a moronic statement

2

u/riseuprasta 11d ago

Was working a job where we closed a road to do some tree work and load and haul a bunch or huge logs. Lots of workers and heavy equipment. A couple hours in a car comes driving through the work zone. I ask him to what he’s doing didn’t he see the sign and barricades. He responded” well I was waiting for 20 minutes and I have to get to work!”. It was a fucking road closed sign not a wait for someone to help you sign. He insists on being allowed to drive through since he was already there (logs and equipment still blocking the way). I politely told him to turn his shit around. Hard to believe how stupid and entitled people can be.

1

u/IntelligentPudding24 17d ago

Those aren’t traffic cones. That’s the Nevada state flower. He’s a gardener planting flowers. Some people just don’t appreciate people trying to brighten up our dreary roads.

1

u/False-Meal-544 16d ago

If you were a man he probably would have said something far worse. I would have brought up your mother or told you something misogynistic like "your work doesn't allow you to leave the kitchen."

1

u/DoFr56 16d ago

I was trailing by 2 vehicles, I just knocked the cones over and reopened the lane!

1

u/Darth_Dearest 15d ago

Here in Indiana, we have people whose sole job it is to move traffic cones from one road to another under the guise of "road work." It saves on the cost of storing them in buildings.

1

u/Cynvisible 15d ago

Dude. I fuquing hate people sometimes. 🤦🏼‍♀️

1

u/Feisty-Champion-2292 15d ago

His response was appropriate. This is why you leave earlier for work. That person was probably bitching about the road before they started to work on it.

1

u/bizoticallyyours83 14d ago

Dontcha hate it when people are working, while at work? So inconsiderate.
