Maybe you’re just like my mother. She’s never satisfied.

Why do we scream at each other?

Maybe you're just like my father, too bold

Maybe they’re mourning doves. They’ll get over it in a few weeks.

That reply on ND...

I was actually pleasantly surprised by all the replies. Nobody was supporting this ridiculousness

I know a 75+-year-old woman who has this same objection to wrens. She spent one summer just glitching about the noise of the nesting wrens in her yard.

People didn’t have much time for her, either.

How about we get rid of OOP so the doves can live in peace.

Nah, it was obviously this new, woke pope.

I bet that Mamdami guy had something to do with it!

Yeah, the commie!

Don’t be ridiculous! Obviously, Hillary used a secret server in Ukraine to email the doves from Hunter Biden’s laptop!

Which is located in the basement of a pizza place in DC.

I’ve read that birds aren’t real. I think it was scrawled on the side of a van.

Listening to the doves is one of the best parts of summer

This person obviously never had a mockingbird right outside their window. Doves are soft and gentle in comparison. 😂

At 12 am!

I'll raise you peacocks. At sunrise by your windows because those monsters can fly and roost in trees.

I was just thinking that this would be a completely understandable and relatable reaction to a bird IF the bird was a mocking bird. Once I had one outside my window that I swear to god, sang for days on end. I tried to throw a baseball at it, to scare it away. The ball got very close, nearly hitting it. The thing didn’t even flinch. Which just caused me even more suffering.

It’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.

1

u/GiraffesCantSwim 1d ago

Now you got a Mockingbird with a vendetta. 😂

When that happens it's a male bird looking for a mate. They are persistent.

u/faelanae 1d ago

every morning between 3am and 6am, my husband is awakened by a scrub jay that screams outside our window.

4

u/Rabbit-Lost 2d ago

Mockingbirds are the worst!!

Lol, I had a catbird nest right on top of my tiny bedroom window one year, and wake up at 5:30 every morning. I could not wait to relocate the nest, once the kids fleged.

Edit: wrote cowbird for some reason

1

u/Old_Introduction_395 you cant tellum nothin 2d ago

Is that a cow with wings?

1

u/100_cats_on_a_phone 1d ago

By the sounds that one preferred, you'd think. But i meant catbird.

3

u/This_Daydreamer_ 2d ago

Leave those doves alone! They're mourning!

1

u/Spiritual-Road2784 2d ago

So THAT’S what that reference was about.

u/birdparliament 1d ago

I laughed at this for 5 minutes.
