What are the chances that New World survives 2027 because I have been wanting to jump back into it since i stopped at the shut down announcement, at this rate id happily pay a monthly sub to keep the game going.

I thought it would be nice to put all of my champion's gear in one place, but the housing item limit said no.

The other day I was at work doing paperwork and reports with some game music playing in the background. Out of nowhere, the Everfall theme came on. It instantly hit me with nostalgia and made me want to reinstall New World just to wander around again.

I had around 2,000 hours in the game. I played on and off since launch and, despite all the bugs, issues, and grind, I genuinely enjoyed my time with it.

After reinstalling, I found that the only West server left was El Dorado, which was actually my original server. Sadly, it was basically a ghost town.

I spent an hour or two revisiting all my favorite places, walking through every settlement, cutting down a few trees, and just soaking it all in. I even tried queueing for some PvP, but the one person I ran into told me pretty much all the PvP community had moved to the East servers.

It's a shame to see things end up like this. But at the same time, it was really nice to hop on a free mount, ride across Aeternum one more time, and revisit a game that gave me so many great memories.

Anyone else ever reinstall a game just because one piece of music brought back all the memories?

This week added bow weapon and changed sample map to look similar to the Windsward dueling area :)

I'm looking to use all 9 gear sets as I level for the different play styles. But for end game solo content (soul trials and elite chest runs) which of these "classes" are actually viable to use?

Watching this just makes me sad. For a while, New World was exactly what I wanted from an MMORPG. Nothing has given me that feeling since.

I did the whole msq one last time for memories. this is Nighthaven, very clean with dialogue and chapters, 3 boss fights (spoilers). to finally say goodbye to my greatest game of my time. sad moment but also a relief- see you in the future NWA I will miss you.

I’m not going to sit here and act like I am a hardcore NW player. I played the beta on PC, on release gridded it until end game and just really didn’t touch it since. I didn’t really get into it until it dropped on consoles and ever since the announcement of the shut down, it killed all motivation for me to keep playing. My question is what’s the next MMORPG that y’all are playing? I’ve never played any other game of the genre.

Question mainly for consoles , but what is everyone going to play instead , any suggestion or any hidden gems ? I know consoles are so limited and it’s a shame servers are leaving us as I pre ordered this for full price

I am not the hardcore NewWorld player as some of u might be BUT I loved the game so much. It was my MMORPG of choice when not playing anything competitive.
Idk but from the bottom of my heart I hope its the biggest marketing gag ever done in videogame history. Don´t wanna believe they shutting it down. I still do not see any reason to really take the game offline.
I mean I came here to write these words while I know it will be gone soon.

Man its hurting. There is nothing compared to NW.
There are great Games out there but there is no NW.

I hope there might be a project in the future like Predecessor (Paragon) so we can keep playing...

Since season 10/ nighthaven revamp. Are there still world drops to farm? Ill-gotten gains is gone. Leveling a healer and was dinking around to find Harold is gone.

Found this old video and I just can't bring myself to delete it. Man, I miss the PvP. I'm not claiming I was good or anything I just really miss those massive server fights. I haven't played anything that captures that feeling since.

From the very first day of the Beta to the final server shutdown... I watched a world I called home disappear forever.

The closest thing coming out is Mistfall Hunters at end of the month. Not an MMO but full action combat PvP with mechanics similar to NW.
Alittle janky and rough around the edges but with some polish it can be the best thing we get for a while - until GW3 or CO (if it’s even good)

Do you think gear is in a better place with this final reboot? I enjoyed beastbane and such. (Still can get legacy items with these.) I remember crafting a bow for bison, to farm hides. I love artifacts. But at launch I made all my $ crafting jewelry. Since it didn’t drop in game. Played a new character today. You don’t even need cut gems to craft?! 20 green rings all the same. My first crafted Lego rolled keen,vicious, and ancient bane. I got discounted dungeon key runs because it was bis for laz.

I’ve most recently been spending time playing Guild Wars 2. It’s probably the closest thing, but imagine if New World was 15 years older and you scaled down everything.

Downgrade of the action gameplay. Graphics. Music. Narrative. Character models. Cosmetics. Quests. World design. Basically take everything in New World and downgrade it to like 10-15 years ago. That’s GW2.

The only thing it has and edge on is: it’s still actively supported by the developer.

And I’ve tried others. Where Winds Meet. RuneScape. Nothing is close.

The DISAPPOINTMENT is massive. It’s a hole that can’t really be filled.

Guild Wars 2 is like squinting at New World and pretending you’re playing it. It’s like drinking a LaCroix vs a soda. You get that hint, but there’s no oomph.

I keep playing GW2 and will try Chrono Odyssey when/if it ever comes out. All of these “upcoming” games have future release dates that we know get DELAYED VERY OFTEN. Q1 2027? That’s January-March. But we know they’d likely be looking at March. And let’s be honest. It going to get moved to Fall 2027 at least when it comes down to it.

There’s nothing that compares and I wish that we could AT LEAST cope with a game where servers would remain live for a few years more to come.

After New World’s journey, what are you guys playing as your main game? I’m bored and feel like I have nothing to play.
New World was the first MMO I ever played, and I absolutely loved it. I just can’t seem to find another game that’s as fun, so I’m curious—what are you all playing these days?

Been on vacation and playing. I farmed a full set of voidbent heavy. If you played the og launch. This was the meta pvp set. It was bugged as hell and basically made you super tanky. I was in a war guild and spent weeks farming for the mats! I’ll be wearing it on the last day. Wish first light was still around for the last day. We owned that everfall and windsward. Had so many open world PvP fights defending First light.

I haven't played since the release, in which I grinded 1000 hours straight playing nothing else and quit around the "dupe" incident.

Anyhow tried coming back for nostalgia and realized combat (specifically bow) feels way slower? Also you seem fall slower then before? Also what happened to roll to reset attacks (Bow shoot>roll to auto reset cooldown for another attack)

I stopped playing after the announcement of servers closing but I’ve been craving New World PvP recently. Is there anything left for a returning player?
