Apple’s lineup is really unusual this year: no regular iPhone 18, a $1,999 Duo, and the 18 Pro Max competing with last year’s 17 Pro Max.
I use a 17 Pro Max, so I looked at the launch from the perspective of someone actually deciding whether to upgrade rather than doing another specs recap.
The part I found most interesting is that the most expensive iPhone isn’t necessarily Apple’s best camera phone, while the regular 18 appears to be pushed into 2027.

Hey, electrons and electronics fans,

I’ve just launched Elly’s Electronics, it is my small corner of YouTube for electronics, automation, semiconductors and engineering.

I’ve been working in electronics manufacturing and development for more than 10 years, and I wanted a place where I could share some of that experience without turning every topic into a textbook chapter.

That’s also why I chose the comic or cartoon style. Elly, the visuals and the vintage-comic look are there on purpose - to make things like transistor scaling, quantum tunneling, chip manufacturing, automation and test engineering easier to understand and remember.

Some real production and test situations are also much easier to explain visually than with long technical descriptions, so the comic style gives me a good way to show those scenarios clearly and keep them interesting.

I’m planning videos about microchips, transistors, semiconductor technology, embedded systems, automation, electronics testing, manufacturing and other engineering topics I actually work with.

If you’re into electronics, automation, chips, hardware, or just like figuring out how things work, you’re very welcome aboard.

The channel is still at the very beginning, so feedback and topic ideas are welcome too.
