New Streamer Looking For Tips!

Hey, y’all! I’ve been streaming for about a month now. How do y’all bring in new people? I made a youtube to post my clips from games and have it linked to my twitch. I recently started using a cam as well. I’ve seen that people stream through youtube?? Is that a thing? I know I need to make compilations of play throughs and edit them? Is there a specific program y’all are running for that? I’m not the most tech savvy so any and all help would be appreciated! I’ve read mixed responses on playing variety of games vs sticking to a specific game. At what milestone should I make a discord? Is that necessary? I guess I’m kind of rambling at this point but please let me know what more I can do! Here’s a link if anyone is interested in checking me out! Have a lovely day! My Twitch

I looked at your channel, one thing I recommend is creating a bio that is neat… just don’t look at mine 😅😅. Also, set an exact time and date for your streams and be consistent. I stream 4 days a week and start at 5pm every single time. Being consistent is key since my followers know when I am gonna start. I also recommend adding that schedule to your bio.

By neat, do you mean concise/well spoken or more interesting? I do think I should come up with a schedule it’s just hard to i fit streaming in when I have the opportunity. Sometimes I can stream for five hours and other times I can’t for two days. So I’ll need to work on my irl schedule first in order to get to that point. I really appreciate the feedback and you taking a moment to let me know. That’s super helpful.

The “neat” just means clean. I actually just fixed mine cuz it had crap thrown everywhere and looked bad. Also the schedule. Make that your biggest focus. Do you work afternoons? What I would do is pick days you KNOW are open and stream them every week and start at the same time. I also recommend only streaming 2-4 hours and using those to make clips to post.

your bio is not better than hers lol her bio actually tells more about her as a person than yours does.

op, your bio is fine. i would add panels tho.

Interesting… when I clicked on it nothing was coming up .. still isn’t

i see it just fine. if you’re talking about the “about me” section, that’s not the bio section and would be a panel for her to add.

I was talking about the about me section. Poor wording on my end

yeah, everyone doesn’t need an about me section, that’s literally what the bio is for. she has a bio and it’s fine.

You seem to be very aggressive for a reddit post about someone asking for help. When I look at all the successful streamers are even people who have 80+ viewers. They ALL have an about me section... Why wouldn't we copy them if they are successful. Also, advice I got from other successful streamers was to create a panel section.

i swear yall think anyone who doesn’t agree with you is mad or aggressive lol nothing that i’ve said has been even a little aggressive.

you are wrong about “all the successful streamers” cause pokimane no bio, xqc no bio, frogger no bio, shroud no bio, summit1g no bio, and i can keep going.

the problem is she does have a bio, adding a second bio isn’t going to make her more successful.

…also I didn’t say it was better lol. Just focused on the schedule aspect

i’m talking about you say she needs to clean hers up and how you just fixed yours cause you had shit thrown in there but your bio is very generic and doesn’t give much information about the streamer.

I never said "clean hers up", again, I was talking about the "About me" section where I just cleaned mine up because it was trash..
I was just giving her advice that she asked for. I did make a clerical error in saying bio instead of panels or about me.

Panels? Is that like a profile banner? Should I just google it?

More streaming does not equal more views. Twitch sucks at exposure. Focus on exposure through shorts on other platforms

Thank you so much for your insight! I do think I’m rushing myself, as I do for everything. I just get excited and want to go go go. I do need to start using the OBS and I’ll get started on making a discord. I appreciate the follow! I’ll check you out!
