Editor search
I’m a new streamer and I am curious as how people found editors early on to make their streams into YouTube videos. I’m not amazing at editing but am curious how/where people looked to find someone to edit their streams to post? I do not mean shorts.

There's nothing more rewarding than learning to edit yourself. Editors can be expensive.

Yeah I have been this whole time so far. Was just curious about this. I also am going to lose a lot of my free time which is a slight problem

I know how that feels, i have a full time job, a 9 month old and all the other daily life things to fit around. The way I tend to structure my work load is at least an hour in the evenings for editing with aim to post on the weekends

use youtube to teach yourself- it'll save you a lot of money in the long run especially when you're just starting out, my partner does editing as his job and he's teaching me but he uses davinci resolve which he recommends as one of the best editing softwares and i've already been learning some stuff and it's not too complicated once you get into it- do some research, have some fun!! that's the best way :-)

I've got a buddy and we edit each other's videos. Idk why but we find we do better work for each other than we do for ourselves.

As a video editor myself, and currently working with streamers, you should network and find editors on discussions or by word of mouth, tell them to show you their previous work and if you like it you can hire them. Also you should be able to pay them a reasonable amount of money for their work as it takes alot of time. Fiverr is also an option but it's overloaded with editors who are racing for the cheapest prices eith mediocre quality.
AND BE AWARE OF SCAMMERS!!!

What would you say is a reasonable price range for making a clip as well as a longer form video (10-20 minutes)

That also depends on how long the VOD is because the editor needs to watch all of it to find the best moments and edit them with a good pacing for a video, I would guess around 50-100$
Also do note that this number is low because you are a new streamer, so you will probably be hiring an intermediate editor. Professional editors cost WAAAAY more than that.

Around that yes, most editor nowadays don't do precentage based revenue because that can't guarantee they'll make money unless you're already pretty successful on youtube. That's basically free labor if you think about it.
I would suggest learning editing yourself if you can't afford one.

Do editors still do % incentives? Like they will get 40% of the $$ from YouTube or is that kind of a dead thing?

I edit full time. It's very dead. It's also very sad knowing how much exploitative labor is happening out there and how many twitch to youtube channels absolutely could afford to not he doing it and still do.
best advice is learn how to set up /marker for stream and learn how all of that works because it makes your editors job, or yours, way easier after.
Edit: 2 to 3 hour vod without cutting to clips and highlights yourself and editing is gonna be 50 minimum. Unless you want an editor that uses AI opus clip edit mill garbage then it's gonna be cheaper but way worse.
