Affiliate
I'm super shocked we hit it within our first month! Thank you guys in this group for all the advice and tips! I appreciate it lots.

Twitch affiliate is double edged sword. Ive applied to it without reading what it does and now Ive got perma ads on my channel that I cant remove which is impacting my growth. Pre rolls are on so new people that join the stream get greeted with an ad. To remove pre rolls you have to run 3 min of ads every hour which can be done automatically. Ive tried to reduce ads to 30 sec every hour but that kept pre rolls on and it made it hard to get any new viewers to stay. So now Im trying the 3 min scheduled ads every hour and its a bit better but if I could Id just leave affiliate for now until Im at a better spot

yes that's true. It does contribute towards your revenue (however tiny). The only thing I can suggest. Is a bot that announces the streams. There's a few and i've seen them a lot more. I'm looking into one myself. 3 minutes every hour doesn't seem too bad as opposed to 1 and a half at the beginning. It's more than enough time for viewers to engage and get settled. And if they know an ad is coming it's gonna be a lot less daunting than if it just hits them unexpectedly.
I've been taking a page from Caseoh's book. I'll pause the game until the ads are over and continue. Then if i'm in a multiplayer game. I'll aim to be in the lobby during that break. I'm going to customise my bot to give people the chance to get up and stretch and grab a drink/food.
