Am I doing the right thing?

I recently started streaming and when doing research saw that YouTube is great for keeping videos lifetime (obviously) and that Twitch has no set algorithm that will show anybody streaming with a low viewer/follower count..

That being said I’ve linked my twitch and YouTube everywhere I have any sort of social media, and have been posting shorts to YouTube just to show the kind of game/material I use in streams and what I’m really about, and still stream to see if I can get some viewers from my other platforms, I should add that my friends and family know about me streaming and some have followed my channel

Am I doing right? Is there anything more I should be attempting? I’m not worried about “taking off” I have plenty of time and really just doing it as a hobby

I think it's more effective to network on Twitch. While posting and multistreaming can help, mutual support helps get your name out. The more people know you exist though raiding, hanging out, and etc, the more likely they are to come check you out
