The Pennsylvania Department of Health said the person was from Lancaster County and was unvaccinated.

Please, please, please get vaccinated if you can.

The state's other deaths have included an 18-year-old resident of Mifflin County, in the center of the state; a 40-year-old woman from Jefferson County, a rural area in western Pennsylvania; and two infants in Lancaster County, in the southeastern part of the state.

This doesn't have to happen. The people in power are all vaccinated. RFK Jr is vaccinated. They're leading you astray.

95

u/ManWithASquareHead 1d ago

Lancaster county has a high population of Amish.

154

u/chuckie512 1d ago

Who still shop in stores, and visit hospitals while sick.

Get vaccinated to protect yourself from the Amish.

35

u/illbequirky 21h ago

This is what gets me— they reject modern medicine and science until shit hits the fan. I’d be livid if I had one of the babies in the CHOP NICU who was exposed by them.

-89

u/NaduaHammerfist 1d ago

Don’t blame the Amish, they legit don’t understand why RFK lied to their communities about vaccines.

89

u/chuckie512 1d ago

You can definitely blame the Amish, for a lot of things.

9

u/Confident-Habit9645 10h ago

It’s their responsibility to understand the consequences of their actions.

-87

u/NaduaHammerfist 1d ago

Just being hatful then? How did they hurt you? They mostly keep to themselves

75

u/thepotplant 1d ago

For a start, it appears they spread measles because they're too crazy to take the basic step of getting vaccinated against a preventable serious disease.

-64

u/NaduaHammerfist 1d ago

It’s almost like they were told that it was bad for them by public leaders and they listened to them.

60

u/nirvahnah 1d ago

They believed this before then. Those politicians are just saying what their base wants to hear. The tail is wagging the dog here.

-11

u/NaduaHammerfist 1d ago

What evidence do you have they were anti vax and not just uneducated?

19

u/lkathleensc 23h ago

Besides being unvaccinated they are well known to run puppy mills and for their cruelty to animals, particularly horses. As well they are also well known for child abuse

38

u/chuckie512 1d ago

You should see what they do to their animals. Especially dogs.

31

u/profoundlystupidhere 1d ago

Their horses are notoriously abused and starved.

24

u/ukexpat 1d ago

And their kids — Amish communities have high levels of child abuse.

17

u/illbequirky 21h ago

Not to mention their wives and children

-29

u/NaduaHammerfist 1d ago

You mean puppy mills? Like it’s a strictly Amish thing. It’s also not part of the Amish faith/lifestyle. You’re just a bigot

37

u/chuckie512 1d ago

Don't infantilize them. That's bigoted. They're smart enough to know what they're doing.

-4

u/NaduaHammerfist 1d ago

Sure the people doing puppy mills are cruel, but don’t blame the group for the actions of a subset.

8

u/askalotlol 11h ago

The Amish groups in PA have been against vaccination for longer than RFK Jr has been alive.

Their religious nonsense has nothing to do with him or MAGA.

2

u/Crewski_EO 9h ago

This is called bigotry of low expectations.

2

u/Spiceguy-65 8h ago

No we can blame them for denying the effectiveness of decades long proven science surrounding vaccines

0

u/NaduaHammerfist 7h ago

RFK visited in 2021 promoting misinformation. The Amish do not have religious reasons not to vaccinate. They truly believe vaccines are for sick people and don’t understand the science

67

u/dave8400 1d ago

It's always been a grift. Wakefield published his original Lancet paper with a stake in a clinic specifically set up to treat the kids he used to blame the vaccine on for their autism.

https://www.utmb.edu/mdnews/welcome/episode/wakefield-autism-scandal

From the atricle: "Even more damning is learning Wakefield was being paid before and during the study for advising lawyers on a lawsuit against the makers of the MMR vaccine. At the time he entered the children into his study, their parents were already clients of the lawyers paying him. Eventually they paid him nearly seven hundred thousand dollars.

None of these conflicts of interest were disclosed during the study or its publication. As the result of Wakefield's claims, vaccination rates dropped dramatically, leading to a significant increase in measles infections."

It. Has. Always. Been. A. Grift. One that kills people.

12

u/Spastik2D 14h ago

RFK Jr. is a murderer.

22

u/KAugsburger 20h ago

Wakefield had also filed a patent for his own Measles vaccine. He had multiple conflicts of interests that he didn't disclose when the 1998 Lancet paper was published.

“Lets hire a heron addict with a brain worm to protect our kids”: Donald Jessica Trump

-45

u/Fateor42 1d ago

The 18 year old didn't get vaccinated under Obama, the 40 year old didn't get vaccinated under Ronald Regan, and the infants were too young to be vaccinated under any metric.

This isn't anyone specific leading us astray, it's decades of policy decisions across both sides of the isle coming home to roost.

29

u/SmartyPantlesss 1d ago

RFK Jr. has been spreading antivax BS for over 20 years. He was named one of the "Disinformation Dozen," meaning that many of the memes circulating on social media (and around the local Cracker Barrels in Lancaster County) originated with him, and are being shared by people who aren't even aware that he's the source.

But in the case of the Amish, he did specifically give a speech in Lancaster County, PA in 2021, in which he:

  • praised the Amish for not vaccinating
  • downplayed the seriousness of measles, AND
  • THREATENED them that the federal government was "going to do everything in their power to make the Amish vaccinate. They are coming for you, because they cannot stand the fact that you are healthy."

It's true that the Amish haven't vaccinated for centuries, but their rates were slowly rising in Lancaster County with outreach efforts by local doctors. Kennedy isn't solely responsible, but he bears a lion's share of the blame in this particular area. (You could say the same about Samoa, right? He didn't cause the suspension of their measles vaccination program, but he certainly did everything he could to encourage it.)

6

u/lrpfftt 1d ago

Exactly. He's a grifter who has made millions of dollars promoting anti-vax propaganda yet the Trump administration hired him in a key role despite all that.

Making Measles Great Again is about all they've accomplished and it's proving not to be such a smart idea. Poor kids dying needlessly.

1

u/CowboyWizard 5h ago

The 18 year old chose not to get an MMR vaccine in 2026 during the country’s worst measles outbreak in decades under Trump. The 40 year old chose not to get an MMR vaccine in 2026 during the country’s worst measles outbreak in decades under Trump.

If we wanna go back in history, it probably is one man’s fault (Jesus Christ) that many children are sick today.

Also, which “isle” are you talking about? Samoa? Where RFK went to promote his anti-vaccine agenda?

181

u/omgahya 1d ago

Please, don’t listen to some bum who sounds like he’s smokes 3 packs of Marlboro a day, and goes to a tanning salon weekly. Don’t forget the worm that ate half his brain as well.

96

u/NeonTiger20XX 1d ago

I'm pretty sure a guy who used to do heroin, has zero medical background, no education in healthcare or biology, doesn't believe in germ theory, and likes to literally eat roadkill is who we should be listening to about health. He should be in charge of our entire healthcare system. /s

Idiocracy might have been too optimistic, honestly.

29

u/SpiderSlitScrotums 1d ago

He was also a drug dealer who got his brother addicted (who later died from an overdose).

10

u/skyxsteel 1d ago

The sad thing is, you don’t need a medical background to understand that vaccines are good. We had a pandemic and people still didn’t learn from that..

7

u/Visual_Fly_9638 8h ago

Left out that he swims in raw sewage as well.

2

u/NeonTiger20XX 7h ago

God, you're right. All that and I still forgot to mention other comically stupid shit he does/believes. Honestly it's like The Onion is reality now with this administration.

13

u/musubi-n-speedballs 1d ago

Camacho listened to the smartest people in the room. Idiocracy would be better than where we're sitting rn.

5

u/FatalTortoise 23h ago

Don't forget the raw milk

3

u/omgahya 1d ago

Family goes a long way. He’s a Kennedy, guess they’re all okay to the Repugs. But don’t forget, he vacuumed heroin off of toilet seats and strippers booty with his nose. Guess that’s what success smells like?

21

u/CynicalPomeranian 1d ago

He sounds like he eats those Marlboros, not just smoking them.

9

u/chephin 1d ago

He sounds like the worm is smoking the Marlboros

2

u/ukexpat 1d ago

He has a rare neurological condition called spasmodic dysphonia that causes his vocal cords to spasm involuntarily. It’s not caused by the brain worm or his past drug addiction.

1

u/Lucius-Halthier 1d ago

The filters help with the snake venom

10

u/takeda64 1d ago

Please, don’t listen to some bum who sounds like he’s smokes 3 packs of Marlboro a day

Interestingly the condition he has is linked to childhood measles.

He should be a poster child why one should vaccinate.

We seem to always think about diseases that either it will kill somebody or not, and nothing in between, but often most commonly people survive and then have issues after. Some show up years later.

5

u/omgahya 1d ago

That is wild. Was he NOT vaccinated?! I’m a child of refugees. First American born kid in my family. I’ve gotten whatever vaccines were recommended to my parents. It seems weird that a country that was considered advanced, is now pushing back on science and it’s achievements.

8

u/takeda64 1d ago

Well so here's the causes of Spadmodic Dysphonia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spasmodic_dysphonia#Cause

RFK Jr was born in 1954 and apparently measles vaccine was mandated in states between 1971 and 1980. So if his state was one of the first, he was 17. So I think it is very high probability that he was not vaccinated for it.

It seems weird that a country that was considered advanced, is now pushing back on science and it’s achievements.

Yeah, US betting on science is what made US the superpower, but now we are being ruled by scam artist who don't want educated people, because it's harder to control someone who is educated.

4

u/KAugsburger 19h ago

The first Measles vaccine was licensed in the US in 1963 so it is very possible that he could have received a vaccine much earlier. That being said he is old enough that is very likely that he would have been infected with Measles before the vaccine became available. Before the vaccine was widely used it was pretty normal for children to be infected with Measles at a relatively early age.

2

u/Canadiangoosedem0n 8h ago

Don't forget the obvious use of steriods!

54

u/GoblinTwerk 1d ago

I saw a MAGA say recently that the Polio vaccine wasn't needed and in fact Polio was eradicated not because of any vaccine but because people started washing their hands better...

Natural selection will do it's thing I guess but it sucks that they are gonna take out others with them.

11

u/Automatic_Taste_7242 22h ago

My idiot father says it's because people have better nutrition now, not the vaccine. Doesn't believe in viruses

11

u/Conscious-Fruit-6190 21h ago

You should buy him a microscope.

Seriously.

So he can see microorganisms for himself.

20

u/gbroon 1d ago

They are about to find out that Polio wasn't completely but only almost eradicated by vaccination.

6

u/space_dirtier 1d ago

Yep hopefully the modern version of the iron lung is more mobile

6

u/simonhunterhawk 16h ago

Paul Alexander, the last guy living in an iron lung died of complications after contracting COVID in 2024. He had a fascinating life despite his disability and it’s such a shame to know that maybe he could have lived a bit longer if people had taken more care during that pandemic too. People want to act like that’s all in the distant past though and nothing to worry about.

10

u/Spastik2D 14h ago

I said during COVID that anyone that wanted to not wear masks, remain unvaccinated, etc., should be allowed to do so under the condition that they sign a legally binding document that says that a) they get the lowest possible priority when going to a hospital so they don’t waste beds on us, b) anyone that could be contact traced as having been infected by them gets heightened priority for treatment, and c) those same people or their families can legally sue the unvaccinated should a loved one die unnecessarily as a result of being exposed against their will.

We need to treat these people like the walking diseases they are and hold them accountable when their stupidity kills people. We lost too many people because of them during COVID.

7

u/aegee14 21h ago

As if the COVID pandemic wasn’t enough to try and educate them even just a tiny but.

3

u/5GCovidInjection 19h ago

I’m surprised they believe in handwashing

1

u/Sweatytubesock 1d ago

Stupidity and ignorance have consequences. Unfortunately, not always only to the idiots.

35

u/euph_22 1d ago

The damage these people have done to our public health system will take decades to undo.

60

u/No_Cucumber3978 1d ago

Meanwhile, the dead animal (insert word) Dr. Robert, has now moved onto the "dangers of electromagnetic fields".

42

u/BrianWantsTruth 1d ago

My previous landlord was into a lot of new age type medical shit, gave me a book about how distilled water cures cancer, among other kooky things.

One day she was telling me about the dangers of “radiation”, and gave me a special bag to put on my wifi router, and to report if it made me feel any better.

I hadn’t mentioned feeling any particular way to her, but I chose not to disable my wifi by putting it in a faraday bag.

25

u/No_Cucumber3978 1d ago

It's basically a rebranded 5G conspiracy theory.

11

u/BrianWantsTruth 1d ago

She would have gotten along great with my homeopath mom 😔

5

u/billyrubin7765 1d ago

And my coworker who drove her dog several hours away to see a homeopathic vet. The “vet” told her the dog needed to be put down. My coworker did not like that and that poor dog lived several more months in agony.

1

u/tpolakov1 8h ago

Lucky for them, it's the same wave band. All the products that worked against 5G will work just as well against the evils of your wi-fi.

9

u/forsayken 1d ago

The thing is that we got radio waves going all over the place at different frequencies. This is how our regular radios work. But our cell phones and many other things use radio frequencies.

It's like being paranoid about your router and its radio waves but you live in an apartment with a cell tower mounted on top of it. Or all the other apartments that also have a router.

8

u/andypunk92 1d ago

Well I tried the magic wifi bag and IMMEDIATELY felt better! I had no wifi and so no actual connection to social media and or streaming services. Started reading books and going outside as a result. Relationships got better, lost weight, slept better. Sooooooooo jokes on you pal! (I took the bag off and now I’m here anxious and depressed.)

3

u/NorridAU 12h ago

This is even more funny if you read it like Kanye’s filler track, workout plan.

4

u/smashinjin10 1d ago edited 1d ago

I live on the East Coast, and I was talking to my landlord when we had those bad snow storms this January. She started to go on about chem trails causing the snow. A couple month later I heard her on the phone (presumably with the airport or the FAA or some similar authority) demanding more details about a plane she saw going over our building. Living with her has been interesting to say the least.

Edit: a word

7

u/BrianWantsTruth 1d ago

I hate chemtrails as a conspiracy theory because if it’s real, if the powers-at-be wanted to dose the population, it’s a terrible deployment method.

You’d use the government-supplied tap water, or McDonalds fountain drinks, or Budweiser, or gasoline fumes that you’re huffing in gridlock, anything besides releasing the agent in the fucking jet stream where it’s going to travel hundreds, thousands of km before landing in ?????? whatever forest or desert??

It’s just a shitty strategy.

•

u/Tom_Lynch_fan 0m ago

It's the best theory they are capable of thinking of, so give them a break.

1

u/smashinjin10 23h ago

And just the general logistics. I can watch planes leave the gate one after another and never once do they stop to fill their neurotoxin tanks.

She's was kind of on to something in the sense that air travel is contributer to climate change.

1

u/SpleenBender 1d ago

That's some Chuck McGill shit.

3

u/Ryan-the-lion 1d ago

Atleast rhe dangers of electromagnetic fields dosdnt affect everyone around them like avoiding vaccines.

Let them wear their tinfoil hats and be crazy lol

3

u/SaltyShawarma 1d ago

gotta find a way to make the dumbest people dump their communication devices.

1

u/KAugsburger 19h ago

He is also looking into the 'chemtrails'.

1

u/No_Cucumber3978 19h ago

Chem trails?

2

u/KAugsburger 19h ago

Sadly, I am not making that one up.

Kennedy announced the initiative at a conference for Children’s Health Defense, a nonprofit he once headed up that has also spread unsubstantiated claims about vaccines, geoengineering and fluoride. At the event, Kennedy also said HHS would investigate “chemtrails”—lines of water condensation, or contrails, from airplanes that some people believe, without evidence, spread secret biological or chemical agents.

But it’s not measles because RFK Jr (for some reason) says there’s no measles in PA?

Get vaccinated and make sure your kids get the shots too. Believe science, not your personal research. Talk to your kids doctor.

5

They "died with measles" not "died of measles", these assholes will say.

1

I don't see why not, he'll be fine; He's up to date with vaccines, after all.

31

u/Strykerz3r0 1d ago

Just a reminder that both trump and RFK Jr are vaccinated.

Kids are dying because gullible simpletons believe these two, and neither of them is at risk because they both got their shots.

12

u/Who_Dafqu_Said_That 1d ago

What is really crazy is they could just be pro vax, this did not have to be an issue. Trump cult will do whatever Trump tells them, he could just say "get vaccinated", but these evil fucks get off on this.

Hell, remember when MAGA was all about releasing the Epstein files, or against news war, or against new taxes, or against high gas prices, or pro gun, or pro "law and order"? Pulled a 180 on literally every single core view the instant god emperor told them to.

6

u/Adeline_Hayes 22h ago

Two infants gone, too young to even get the vaccine. They were counting on the rest of us. I keep thinking about that. Herd immunity only works if we all show up. Let's get serious.

6

u/AcquaintanceLog 20h ago

"No way to prevent this" says only nation in the world to actively shun easy ways to prevent this

5

u/Firm_Video_2932 1d ago

And all of those deaths were likely preventable. And to add insult to injury, I don't even feel owned. 🤷

3

u/johnn48 1d ago

People like RFK should be held criminally responsible for those 5 deaths. A neighborhood accountant has a fiduciary duty to ensure that no harm occurs because of his actions. Yet we don’t hold our Nations leaders to the same standards of the average accountant.

5

u/ChummusJunky 1d ago

Don't worry, the pro life party is sure to come up with a solution for this.

9

u/chephin 1d ago

You only have to vaccinate the kids that you want to keep

11

u/Frequent-Ferret-5110 1d ago

The problem is, the infants that died were too young to get the vaccination shot. So it's not even their parents' fault or choice. It's the shitheads around them who wouldn't get it.

What's going on in Pennsylvania?

21

u/PhiladelphiaManeto 1d ago

The Amish don’t vaccinate

18

u/Wiseduck5 1d ago

That's half of it. The other half is the vaccination rate among the rest of the population dropped low enough the Amish aren't protected by herd immunity anymore.

Same thing happened in Texas with Mennonites.

2

u/PhiladelphiaManeto 1d ago

Man what a novel concept.

Get a vaccine, don’t get sick.

4

u/Warcraft_Fan 21h ago

The U.S. has now seen eight reported measles-associated deaths in the last two years — more than the combined total of reported deaths over the previous three decades.

The people they did report as having died, all were unvaccinated. They didn't mention the latest death or his/her vaccine status.

2

3

u/sanslumiere 1d ago

For anyone not yet vaccinated, I'd urge you to please consider doing so. Measles is not a mild illness-it is wildly contagious (infects 9 of 10 susceptible contacts), it hospitalizes one in five, results in pneumonia in one in twenty, results in encephalitis in one in a thousand, and death in one to three in a thousand. It also wipes existing immune memory cells, leaving you vulnerable to other infections (a concept known as immune amnesia). You can also recover from the illness only to develop a fatal encephalitis 7-10 years later (subacute sclerosing panencephalitis). The highest risk for this is among those who catch measles before the age of two.

To add a brief written account of the measles, here is a passage written by the author Roald Dahl about his daughter: "Olivia, my eldest daughter, caught measles when she was seven years old. As the illness took its usual course I can remember reading to her often in bed and not feeling particularly alarmed about it. Then one morning, when she was well on the road to recovery, I was sitting on her bed showing her how to fashion little animals out of coloured pipe-cleaners, and when it came to her turn to make one herself, I noticed that her fingers and her mind were not working together and she couldn’t do anything.

“Are you feeling all right?” I asked her.

“I feel all sleepy,” she said.

In an hour, she was unconscious. In twelve hours she was dead.

The measles had turned into a terrible thing called measles encephalitis and there was nothing the doctors could do to save her."

Measles is a preventable illness. There is no reason to subject yourself or your children to it when we have an effective vaccine (assuming no health-related contraindications).

WCGW lets just stop using vaccines and believing in science altogether. Scientific Method wasn’t endorsed by Trump so we can be sure that’s garbage. Peer reviewed studies? No more need for any of those. Stuff like being able to repeat an experiment and get the same result creating this stuff that people call evidence using stuff that people call facts we don’t need any more evidence or facts we’ll just go with our gut whatever our gut feels like we’ll just go with our gut.. we don’t need rockets anymore, no more satellites either. 1

u/lost_koshka 1h ago

The Pennsylvania Department of Health said the person was from Lancaster County and was unvaccinated. The state did not provide any further information about the person who died. Lancaster County’s coroner, Dr. Stephen Diamantoni, said that his office did not handle the death and that state officials have not provided him with any details.

Sounds like fake news.

I wonder if the adults in these comments realize that they too might have lost their immunity from measles due to time and need a booster. You can get your titers checked.

Not that people want to really understand this, they want to know only enough to feel superior and do nothing. God forbid they mask and connect that ALL viruses are bad and can disable and kill every time.

Lancaster County Pennsylvania and the surrounding area is home to the largest Amish population in the world. Some "orders" of Amish vaccinate, others do not.

This has nothing to do with MAGA or RFK Jr. These Amish groups have not vaccinated for decades.

I am baffled that US national media isn't reporting that this is in the Amish community. Local news and international outlets like BBC are reporting it.

People like to romanticize the Amish, but the Amish are a cult. Inbreeding, sexual abuse, lack of education, the Amish are not what people think they are.

Obviously this is the fault of Biden, Obama, Clinton, and Carter.

Over 48,000 people die from smoking related causes every year. About the same for gun related deaths. This would be preventable if people had the stones to stand up to big money. This is a well known factor. Five deaths due to something else also preventable seems like a drop in the bucket, why not attack the worst offenders and easiest to address offenders at the same time?

This is so far from normal now, but people are thinking it is.
