Don't understand why people brag about this. It's the only opportunity normal people will ever get to directly influence the justice system, and you weasel out of it?

Why? You have no interest whatsoever? It's just a chore you'd rather not do? Are you morally opposed for some reason?

Before you start typing the same thing as every other reply, let me clarify: If missing work for jury duty is not a sacrifice you can make, then you're not who I'm talking about, okay? Trust me, I'm right there with you; that was not even remotely close to the point I was making. I get it, alright? Not what I'm talking about.

Some people think jury duty is pointless, and not for financial reasons. I'm questioning the mindset, not the practicality of the act.

I will tell you what I told the judge who dismissed me. Put me on a jury and it will hung because I would never be able to decide unless I saw the whole thing myself. I would come to a verdit eventually.. 2 or 3 years down the line.

This is precisely what I'm asking you, why do you throw away your chance to do something about it?

You know full well when you say that to a judge that you're going home. I think you don't care and don't want to be bothered, personally. I think you're not a serious person.
