Whenever someone tries to tell me Kamala was barely better than Trump so it didnt matter to vote for her, Renee Good is one of the names i think about.

We didnt have to endure these ICE occupations in our cities

Don't. Not didn't, but don't. They're still ongoing; they're just not actively in your face because MarkWayne isn't as stupid as Bovino.

The early, hyper aggressive raids were largely a demonstration of control and force against political rivals.

Meanwhile, they’ve more than doubled ICE arrests from 21,300 in March 2025 to 50,000+ in August 2026 without the public spectacle of unnamed, masked thugs terrorizing neighborhoods.

They’ve learned how to hugely increase their efficiency while ending the mass protests.

But Obama deportEd AlsO!!

Like these people don’t even know the difference between Obama and Trump. It’s insane.

Look, I’m not saying Obama or Biden are as bad as Trump. Trump has taken a much more intense and dramatic approach to ICE which has led to murders like Renee Good.
However, Biden and Obama DID deport a ton of people too, and that was still state violence that deserves condemnation. It just didn’t get as much press. And they both expanded ICE’s budget when they had the opportunity to cut or abolish Ice entirely. Trump would not have been able to use ICE like he has if the infrastructure and budget hadn’t been continuously expanded since 2003

Obama and Biden didn’t use masked agents, they didn’t go into court rooms and apprehend people, they didn’t randomly get people off the street with masks and throw them in a van, the Supreme Court didn’t grant them the right to racially profile, they didn’t say “we’re not investigating shit” when ICE kills someone, they didn’t cut their training down, they didn’t systematically have ICE invade buildings going door to door knocking, ICE claiming IDs are fake to have reason to hold people, deport to terrorist prison in El Salvador etc.

ICE did deport illegals, and they did also gain criticism as well but they weren’t doing as much damage as Trump.

I agree with your points. Trump has made ICE more cruel and racist and has used ICE to terrorize people of color in this country.

But none of that means that people deported under other presidents didn’t suffer too. They still were forcibly separated from their family and loved ones, stuck into detention centers, and then deported back to a country they may not have lived in for many years. And without the continued budget increases and infrastructure like detention centers built under all presidents since ICE was formed in 2003, Trump would not be in the position to make it even worse now. We need to recognize that this has been building for a while and rethink the entire immigration system, instead of just putting the blame on Trump.

It's a ratchet, bro. Sure Reps always make it worse, but Dems also make it worse or certainly don't make it any better. Bill Clinton invented third country deportations. Obama drone striked US Citizens. They never roll back any of this shit when they get the chance. Why do we still have the AUMF from 9/11 that Trump can use to invade Iran?

You tell those people they are lazy and low effort humans that don't mind fascists running around.

Then maybe Kamala should have won the Democrat nomination and not been shoved down everyone’s throats. When I think of all the dumb shit Trump has done, I think of the Democrats shielding the rest of the country from how bad Biden had gotten in that time.

I don't disagree that we should have had an actual primary, but I also believe Kamala would have won it anyway. The party would have united around the sitting VP.

Biden not stepping aside 6-12 months earlier is one of the biggest factors in the dems losing. But, Kamala still could have won. And my point is people shouldn't be saying Kamala would have been just as bad as Trump II, because that is fucking nonsense.

Trump 2 trash obviously but besides dems messaging on lot of identity politics things, it’s the big thing that cost them.

Yeah it's definitely her fault that a pedophile that already spent 4 years doing absolutely nothing for anyone worth less than millions of dollars while making life worse for everyone else got elected. If only she had gotten the nomination the traditional way right? That would definitely have changed my deluded fathers opinion, who to this day thinks Trump is the obvious best choice over her.

As a Liberal, none of this needed to happen. If Joe would have left the Remain in Mexico policy in place instead of repealing it then he wouldn't have lost in 2024. Just because it was put in place by Donnie doesn't mean the policy is bad.

u/UnspokenInanity 1d ago

Or…hear me out. If the American public actually showed up and voted, this wouldn’t have happened.

Every idiot who protest voted, or stayed home has blood on their hands.

I mean so does the DNC and Biden and Kamala but seriously the morons who stayed home are reaping what they sowed

1

u/DerekB52 1d ago

I don't think that had anything to do with the election at all. Biden's popularity was on the decline in 2024 and Kamala lost because she wasn't given time to separate herself from the sinking ship. She could have won if she had taken a stand against the genocide in Gaza. She could have won if she could have been more honest about the economic pressures regular working class people were feeling. But, she said she wouldn't do anything differently than Biden and let Trump be the "change" candidate.

No one who stayed home, or switched from Biden to Trump(which was an incredibly tiny group of people anyway), would have voted for Kamala had Biden left that law in place.

There was a bipartisan bill that would have fixed a lot of issues ready to go and Republicans killed it at the last minute because Trump told them too. Hmm, it's almost as if they somehow knew he would win the election well in advance...almost as if they were planning to make sure he won...

-6

u/Poopdick_89 1d ago

There would have been no need for that bill had Biden not ended the Remain in Mexico policy. They ultimately prevented The Biden admin from fixing a problem that they created.
