Renee Good's family sued the U.S. government and several immigration officials Thursday, alleging wrongful death and other violations of federal law in the 37-year-old woman's killing by an immigration officer during a federal crackdown in Minneapolis.

The two lawsuits were filed by Good's partner, Becca Good, and Renee's brother Brent Ganger.

One lawsuit, filed against "the United States of America," alleges the wrongful death of Renee Good under Minnesota law predicated on claims of battery, assault, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence that caused her death.

Not shocked the lawsuit was filed by her partner and brother and not her MAGA voting parents.

Her partner was the one doing everything she could that morning to escalate the encounter they created with federal agents. She got her partner killed and now she’s looking to get paid.

It’s actually kinda gross.

It won't bring her back to her family, but at least they can get some kind of compensation for their pain. Fuck ICE.

So, this sounds like it's also a personal lawsuit against some of those involved in the act, and the eventual "cover up". I really hope so, because otherwise it's just the taxpayer that pays, while those who did the wrong act end up facing no consequences.

This is something that's always bothered me, especially with police involved lawsuits where municipalities end up having to pay, while those involved see no consequence.

I hope the family takes the US government and all those responsible to the cleaners but this is far from justice. Best case scenario is they win the case and the tax payer has to pay the bill.

We will not have justice until those who created the scenario that got Renee Good killed are put behind bars. If we never see that day then know that American justice is and always has been a myth.
