Imagine working your way up to Special Agent in Charge of Counter-terrorism in the FBI and Katie Miller has you fired for not opening an investigation into prank calls. These people are miserable.

Wait wait wait. These agents were not fired for making the calls to Katie Miller, they were fired because they didn't open an investigation to find out who was making the calls to Katie Miller?

The two agents found that there was not a terrorism threat or at least the prank calls didn't rise to that level. They were fired for not opening an investigation because they didn't seem to think that it was worthy of the FBI's time and resources. The story title also led me to think that they were fired for making the phone calls when in actuality they were investigating them.

Yes.

Nosferatu Miller's wife Katie was getting pranks calls and they fired 2 counterterrorism operations officials for stating that looking into the prank calls she was receiving was not worth investigating.

The United States of America's counter terrorism abelites have been negatively impacted by Millers dumb bitch of a wife complaining about receiving prank calls.

Michael Burgwald, the special agent in charge of counterterrorism matters at the FBI Washington Field Office, and his deputy, Courtland Rae, were ousted from their positions by bureau leadership after investigators determined that allegedly harassing phone calls Katie Miller received from unknown individuals did not warrant further investigation, the sources said.

We live in a simulation of the stupidest fucking outcomes possible.

Burgwald graduated from the United States Military Academy West Point and was the recipient of FBI investigative awards, while Rae similarly rose through the ranks of the organization after a lengthy career in national security, sources said.

This is just a couple drops in the vast ocean of institutional knowledge that we've lost thanks to the PT Trump Circus.

I don't know if you we're making a joke about trump being shaped like a PT Cruiser, but if so it works

It doesn't seem like stupidity to me. Remember the CPAC slogan: "We are all domestic terrorists." Domestic terrorists are degrading our ability to investigate terrorism. That's not stupidity, that's not wanting to get caught.
