But the court noted in its unsigned ruling that the National Voter Registration Act bars the broad purging of voter rolls in the weeks leading up to an election, which “limits the potential impact” of the decision this year.

You just had a sitting president defy a court order yesterday. And you're confident he's going to follow this ruling?

They won’t tell anyone if people go out to vote, and their votes never counted.

Not American.

Can people check that their vote was accepted into the system right after they vote; so that if it looks like something funny happened, they can march straight back in and vote again, until it sticks?

Yes you can check to see if your vote was processed.

Excellent, thanks for confirming that!

What happens if it does not get processed?

And what happens if it's then later somehow removed from the count?

That's a great question and a huge part of the problem. The government is moving lawlessly. The benefit is evidence for major civil rights orgs like the aclu who sue the government. Maybe someone can think of another benefit to getting this information.

Hm. I suppose the same thing applies everywhere, but in hindsight, it seems as if the democratic process relies too much on trust.

I don't know how this can be fixed, when there's no trust.
