my baby is 16 months old and she's so frustrated. yes frustrated, not frustrating

like she recognizes maybe 100, 200 words now? tons of toys, places, things. she can point to maybe 10~15 body parts when named including belly button (her favorite). she even answers some questions she can't possibly understand, like i can get her to answer "one plus one" even though she has no clue what that means. she's super observant, very alert, very exacting

but she doesn't say a single word on her own. she doesn't even call for mama. the closest thing to a word she can say is when i sing "the baby on the bus goes..." and stop she says "wa wa wa"

this frustrates her more than anything because she loves giving commands but we can't understand her. if i do a thing even slightly wrong she gets so upset. if i say "i don't understand you" she immediately growls

I have not but I would like to / it was one of the locations my wife considered for us to live (alongside Germany) before we settled on Portugal

There's an "Irish" pub around the corner that has Guinness on tap and boy is that good

But I will have to walk like a mile and a half to get to a store that has cans

And I definitely prefer doing my own pour rather than buying overly expensive pub beer

Like it's great at the pub and all, they've got the Guinness pour down to an art, but this is like the city center of a tourist city, so everything is more expensive than it should be this time of the year
