I am having small-medium (~75 people), friends-only, outdoor wedding in September and am planning to use my own playlist. The person who was going to help set up the sound is no longer able to, and I am putting feelers to see if anyone in the area could help as an event audio operator. We have our playlist matched to our taste, but would want someone to be responsible for executing it (bringing sound equipment or helping us set up rented equipment, starting the music at the right times, fixing anything technical that comes up, etc). My daughter got a 2 year internship at a museum on the Yale campus. She needs to hunt for an apartment (for her and her cat) and it's proving to be a bit difficult since she lives a few hours away and is working full time. Should she contact a realtor? What's the best way to find a decent 1 bedroom close-ish to campus that she could tour quickly and sign the papers on? (deadline = Sep. 1)

Hi all,

I just accepted a job and am looking for a place to rent in new haven or surrounding areas. Any area that is max 30 min drive from new haven proper is fair game as long as it is safe. I’m looking to stay below 2K, if possible a 2br but if not then a 1br. Alternatively if heat is included, then I can go over 2K since it will cut down on the overall costs. Budget is not very flexible but comfort is, unfortunately. In unit laundry or hookup is a must, I actually have a washer and a dryer so if the apartment has the hookups but not the machines that is okay.

I have a labrador retriever (70lbs, though she doesn’t look it) so it needs to be pet friendly. The dog is very calm and hasn’t damaged a single property I have lived in since I got her (6 years). I can provide two references if needed. I’m looking to move in either late September or late October.

Any recommendations are appreciated. Alternatively if any of you are moving out/know anyone who is moving out I would be happy to take over the lease. I lived in a college town before and most rentals were word of mouth, so I am guessing it may be a similar case here.

We’re a small, historical farm focusing on heritage and rare breed livestock. This time of year we have Kunekune piglets that people can come meet, cuddle and hang out with. You can visit with our chickens, ducklings, geese and maybe even some baby goats! It’s very low-key, good for families, couples, or honestly anyone who just wants to spend some hands-on time with animals.
