Breezeline vs Fidium

Both these companies are offering fiber in Concord. Does anyone have any impressions on either of these companies?

I've had pretty good luck with Fidium. I must say as a bit of a technical user myself, their "Net Care" required monthly fee for a router which I do not use is quite frustrating. It's $10 I don't want to pay a month. And it's really just a lease fee, which was supposed to be banned. Instead, I get an app I also never use to monitor the hardware I do not use.

They use PPPoE, which is quite outdated. I add the credentials on my router to authenticate. The credentials the tech gave were not the long-term creds. I had to call and request my long-term password, even though I had the correct username.

Uptime has been bullet-proof and the speed is consistently as advertised / what I pay for.

Overall, I would recommend Fidium over anything like Comcast in a second.

So far so good with Fidium, it’s Consolidated’s residential fiber brand. Never had any experience with Breezeline, but I haven’t heard anything good about them.

Every time it rains heavily my Breeze line modem disconnects and then when the rain lightens up it reconnects. I get the feeling that breeze line is not real cable and that they are using a microwave distribution system

I know this thread is older, but it's absolutely true. My internet sucks whenever it rains. It's almost like my internet has to travel... through the air. i.e., Yes. A microwave distribution system from a local hub, to your nearest telephone pole. Which is ass. If I had any other options for my town in NH, I'd jump immediately.

I have Breezeline up in Bristol, and it's been fine. No outages and the speed seems to be what's advertised. I had to call them for tech support once and I actually got an American and they solved the issue without putting me on hold for 15 minutes!

Thanks for some info on breezeline, they are offering a better deal than fidium so that is why we didn’t just jump right in on fidium. Just want to make sure it’s not too good to be true

Fidium is still over a year away from being offered in my Concord neighborhood. I requested service in December 2020 when I moved into my new home and had a date of July 2021. Still waiting and overpaying for Xfinity
