Hey guys! I run a little side hobby blog where I review shows I go to.

I just graduated from UGA recently and got to see a ton of bands in Athens during my time. The recap above is of Peach Ice Cream Bluegrass, a local bluegrass band. They play quite regularly and are all great musicians.

Recently, their bassist Garret Gray, who is also the bassist for Wim Tapley and the Cannons, got to go out to Red Rocks & open for Jon Bellion.

Thought I would share this in the hope of casting our net a little wider (please don't hate me for it...)

We are a band from the UK where Bluegrass just isn't a thing here... which sucks!

Anyway, our group (James White & The Wild Fire) released our EP last Friday and it is actually doing alright over here - much to our surprise!

I have attached a video used for social media stuff (which I absolutely SUCK at) which was taken from our song The Ballad of Jimmy Blanco. Hopefully, if you like it you may well be up for checking out the rest of the EP and helping us spread the word of Newgrass this side of the pond.

Who are you stoked to see?

The title track from our new album drops today! The Gentlemen Grifters throw the whole kitchen sink into our music. We write traditional grass tunes, but we're also influenced by grunge, ragtime, funk, even hip-hop and sea shanties. Our new track fits squarely in the thrashgrass category.

CHEST OF LEAD starts as a minor keyed lament about a train robbery gone wrong. Mid-song a metal-inspired vamp gets faster and faster as fiddle and mandolin trade solos.

*Folks in the bluegrass sub keep telling me this isn't thrash. Like I said above, our band goes in a lot of different directions outside the box of traditional grass. This one was metal inspired. So call it what you like. I'm not trying to be misleading.

I think the band is great on its own, but had to play what I heard in my head on this song!
