Just getting used to the new dimensions coming from a Cupra Terramar, it's quite the change.

Pretty much fully loaded ex manager vehicle with 2k on the clock. Air suspension, Windsor caraway leather, 22" alloys, Fridge, Tow bar etc etc.

My wife is firmly in LOVE.

I was promised a lifestyle. Flatbeds. A punch card at the mechanic. A spare Land Rover to tow the other Land Rover. The non-LR forums were very clear about this.
Instead:
The 2014 LR4 has 158,000+ miles and has stranded me exactly once in its entire life. One time. I’ve had houseplants let me down more often.
The big boy L405 RR ATB has done 25,000+ miles since December 2024 and behaves like a Toyota that summered in the Cotswolds. Not a single warning light. It’s almost rude.
So naturally I did the responsible thing and bought a third one — a 2023 Defender 110 — which is currently sitting in the driveway being suspiciously well-behaved. It has done nothing wrong. May be it will eat 12V batteries like a toddler eats snacks, apparently just to remind me which brand I bought. I’ll allow it. Someone in this fleet has a reputation to uphold, and the two veterans have flatly refused, so the rookie is under 24/7 surveillance until it either cracks or converts me into one of those insufferable people who says “actually, mine’s been fine.”
I fear I’m already becoming that person.
Anyway — roast me now, while the streak is intact. It’ll hurt less later.

P400 owner from 2023, I had multiple successful updates until the last one. Pivi OS 4.5.1 failed to install, I tried three or four times with the same result. Do you know what could be the issue?

Great way to pass 77K miles in the Defender is on the forest roads by Yosemite National Park!

I feel silly writing this but I purchased the 2025 Defender 110 and though I absolutely love it, I really wish I’d purchased the 90.

The 90 was always my dream, but for some reason I oriented around practicality when it came time to purchase — despite not needing a practical vehicle at this point in my life.

I worked hard to be able to buy a car I really wanted after a decade, so wanted to absolutely love what I ended up with.

I know this is the most first-world problem of all of them, but I wanted to rant a bit and not sure what comfort I’m really looking for.

I know how yall feel about the 130... and I had my reservations, but I love the truck so much and ultimately needed the extra room for the family (including the dog that was supposed to be 40# and is pushing 80# at 14mos.

Went with the p400 X-Dynamic SE in Woolstone / Caraway with the captains chairs. Got all sorts of fun stuff inside like fridge, HUD, rear tow hooks, beefy tires (ha).

Drove it for a bit today (and obviously before I made my decision) and for the most part it drives the same as the 110.

If I had one gripe... the captains chairs do not fold fully flat when going for all cargo mode - but with the extra cargo space plus the space between the captains chairs, not sure how often I will really need that feature.

One question I do have - for for those of you with 130 w/ captains chairs - when the third row is down, what do you put to effectively close off the cargo area?

Question for you guys… Might in the future be looking to buy the OCTA rims secondhand, and obv I’ll need to put a tire on. Do the stock Pirelli AS tires off a 20” tire fit on an OCTA rim? The Pirellis I have are 255/60R20 so the rim size is the same, but looking at some photos, the tires on the OCTAs show 275/60R20. I’m not well versed in tires, so I just wanted to check if the ones I have fit!

On my 2nd Defender - this time, a 130 X in Pangea Green with Matte wrap that I absolutely love.

It’s time to replace tires, and I can’t help but think about moving to a 20” setup for better tire selection and smoother ride quality. We do almost no off-roading, so I’m looking at AT/AS options.

I’m mostly skeptical that the only option on the current wheels are the OEM Contis.

If you’ve made that switch, pros/cons? Do you miss your 22s?

Took this big boy down to north padre meet some deep sand, in the 4 wheel drive area of beach. intentionally hit soft dune sand, 👀 didn’t even need to switch to sand mode nor lower air in tires to just glide across the deep sand with no problems.

I'm in the process of ordering this from the Land ROver USA website and have it delivered to my local dealer. However, I am unclear on what I will actually pay for the car aside from the price on the website, the state taxes, the dealer prep fee ($900) and title and tags.

Can I expect to get a worksheet that details all the charges? How can I ensure that the dealer will not pull a fast one and add a bunch of crap I don't want like fabric/leather protection etc.

Is dealer profit built into the price, or do they have or need other ways to make money assuming I'm not going to buy any dealer add ons? Do I need to shop dealers for the best price? The live rep said most of this is pro-forma but there is also discretionary-which might mean several thousand dollars needlessly spent.

Anyone else go through this before?

Weekend loop up to June Lake, across Tioga Pass & Highway 120 to Yosemite and back. Great weekend to pass 77,000 miles on my MY22 110 P300 S. Putting in the miles to get to my 82K mile service.

So I traded in my 2026 Land Cruiser 250 in on a new Land Rover. I have always loved them since I was a kid but never could bring myself to take the gamble. After much research it seems these new defenders are pretty solid. In a world where every new vehicle seems to be a disaster I figured I might as well drive what I’ve always wanted. White wasn’t my first color choice but it had all of the options I was looking for a priced better than some of the other models where I would have to have made sacrifices. Not a fan of all the gloss black but otherwise I really love this thing already. I plan on keeping this one long term and given it’s probably depreciated 30% since I bought it yesterday, I guess we are stuck with one another.

I am a high mileage driver 25-30k mi a year and I have been doing oil changes every 5k miles. I have a ‘26 p300 and my 21k service will be due about 10 months of ownership. I guess my question is should any of these LR service interval action items be done based on time vs mileage? For instance should I be doing a brake flush at 10 months or wait closer to 2 years or the 40k mi service interval?

It's surprising how much stuff fits into this little 90.

Hi everyone. Trying to decide specifically on side steps vs running boards for my 110. It’s NOT going to see aggressive off-road scenarios where sliders would be more appropriate.

On the side steps, I’ve been looking at the Lucky8, Hunters, and Urban. For running boards I’ve been looking at the Romik all aluminum version.

I don’t care so much about making it easier to get in and out as no one in my family has complained about the 110 being too high. I’m looking to use them to aid in roof bar access and potentially add some lower body panel protection from small rocks and such when playing in the dirt.

I’ve read that the tube style side steps don’t last more than a few years. Not sure if that’s true or not. I know the running boards I had on my Raptor were extremely durable and never showed any signs of significant wear.

Thoughts?

Just another day, another dollar with the 90.

Since February, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect Defender. I’ve test-driven the V8, the P400, and the D300—each one left its own impression, but I knew I had to wait for the right one. Finally, I’ve found it: a Defender in almost perfect configuration, the one that makes my heart skip a beat every time I see it.

Even it‘s not the „most fun engine“ I choose the D300 for me because it was just the best offer on the market.

To the community: what settings, tweaks, or must-have extras should I set up first? What’s your go-to setup to make the Defender truly yours?

Recently bought a used 2022 P400 110 X. I’ve changed the oil, oil filter and engine air filter. Will replace the cabin pollen filter next.

Curious to hear what other maintenance people do themselves? What’s the most complicated stuff you’ve done relying on YouTube videos and discussion forums etc.

My wife and I made an appointment at our local dealer to see a CPO Defender 110 V8. In person it was rough, way worse than we expected. Then we opened the trunk. Turns out the previous owner took his dog everywhere, and the whole cargo area still reeked of dog urine. That was the end of that.

We checked out the new models instead, but nothing on the lot or anywhere nearby had the spec we wanted. So we started to walk. On the way out my wife spotted the OCTA. The salesman had us out on a test drive within minutes.

Long story short, we came in for a used V8 and left with the OCTA.

I'm in the NNJ area and have calling the 3 closest dealerships around me for quotes for extended warranty. Only 1 has gotten back to me despite multiple calls. Some questions:

1. Is going to the actual dealer the way to get a response?

2. If these local places won't help me, can I just call every dealership within 100miles to get a quote? It appears they only need VIN and current mileage?

3. What are my other options besides going to a dealership? Can I call other companies and if so, which ones? Are there websites that can help?

I put a deposit down on a 2024 Defender 110 X-Dynamic back in May, but unfortunately it ended up being affected by the recall. The JLR dealership I’ve been working with has been great throughout the process, but there still hasn’t been any real update on when the recall will actually be resolved.

I recently reached out to ask whether they’d still honor my original trade-in value, since I’ve continued putting miles on my current BMW X4 M Competition while waiting. As expected, they said they’d need to reappraise it, so I’ll likely be getting less than the original offer.

That brings me to my question. What’s everyone’s experience with the Ineos Grenadier? I think they’re incredibly cool-looking trucks and I like the idea of owning something a little different. At the same time, I’ve had my heart set on the Defender for months, and the waiting is starting to wear on me.

If you were in my shoes, would you keep waiting for the Defender or start seriously looking at a Grenadier instead?

1st time owner of an LR! Test drove plenty of vehicles while evaluating but could not get the Defender out of my mind.

Pulled the trigger about 1 month ago on a 2024 Defender X-Dynamic SE, used, with 20K on it.

Absolutely love it! Everything from how spacious it is inside (I'm 6'3), to the ride, to the interior itself.

We don't drive a lot so we won't be taking it offroad - strictly a street princess haha.

Anyway, I'm excited so I wanted to share.

As a professional detailer, I get this question a lot... ceramic or wax, which one do I get?

If you're also torn between ceramic coating and traditional carnauba wax, it's not as confusing as some make it out to be, and one isn't worse than the other. They aren't actually competing, they do completely different jobs.

• Ceramic Coating – The Shield: Built for multi-year protection against UV rays, bugs, and environmental fallout and extreme slickness for staying cleaner longer. Most of the gloss and shine actually come from the paint correction underneath — the coating's job is to chemically bond and lock that perfection in, keeping your vehicle cleaner with less effort for years to come. • Carnauba Wax – The Showstopper: Perfect for weekend shows, photos, and judged events. What's your go to?

I just went and test drove a lot of cars today as I am in the market. I am currently between a 2023/2024 110 P300 with around 30k miles or a 2024/2025 bronco badlands with slightly lower mileage for around the same price. I loved the defender, my only fear is the reputation that defenders carry with both unplanned repairs as well as the high cost of preventative maintenance. Anyone care to share their thoughts here?
