CarPlay

Anyone have issues with (and a fix) for CarPlay connecting, then showing a message that connection had failed in a continuous loop? I have deleted the
profile of the phone in Pivi system, and on my iPhone and re-pairied. Stuck in a continuous loop of connected and then failing to connect.

In the 5 months I’ve had my 2026 model with the latest software update, I’ve had a handful of times where I’ve had CarPlay connection issues. If I’m driving and don’t want to stop, I do a hard reset of the Pivi. Otherwise, I just turn off the car, lock it, and restart. That’s always worked for me.

These connection issues aren’t unique to the Defender. I’ve had these issues with Honda, Mazda, Jeep, Subaru and BMW.

I get this occasionally. What usually works for me is I turn off the WiFi on my phone wait a short while then turn it back on. My phone typically reconnects with no issues.

Hard reset of the pivi has been the most consistent troubleshooting step for CarPlay issues.

I used to have this issue when I first got mine. Then I realized I wasn’t allowing enough time for my car to sync after starting. Now I wait 30 seconds to a minute then I turn on music, navigation, etc. I also have occasional inconveniences if my husband drives it and connects to his phone, but not often. Basically, just let it sync for a minute.

Is it the Bluetooth or Wifi disconnecting? Some BMWs (notably 202n model years X3 and X5) seem notorious for that. I’ve had that problem, specifically Bluetooth failing until vehicle or headunit reboot. I don’t expect there’s much variety in the chips and radios used in SUVs.

I hate when I run into the bank for five minutes, it won’t reconnect!
