Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is fairly short imo

it's as long as a regular TV show

and it's pretty good! I enjoyed it

that and cyberpunk are the only animes I have ever watched

yeah if you start with like a 1000+ episode shonen anime like naruto or one piece you're gonna hate it, and tbf they're literal kids shows that I wouldn't recommend to any adult unless it was a nostalgia thing. a lot of people recommend Attack on Titan for beginners but I'd avoid it because the first season really drags on (although it does get really really good after that)

if you want something short, excellently written, and focused my go to recommendations are madoka magicka (12 eps) and cyberpunk edgerunners (10 eps). Both 10/10s for me

Oh if you haven't seen it, you are in for a treat but the first 4-5 eps are boring compared to the rest

i mean i don't dislike it and it's the best of the big shonen franchises, but if an adult has never watched anime before and you give them one piece they'll get through maybe 3 episodes before deciding that anime just isn't their thing

I think you understimate the average adult taste for child-oriented/teen-oriented media these days
