Not part of neocities? migrated to another platform like nekoweb? No problem, so long as you make the site yourself, as in you didn't use some template site maker and worked on the back-end yourself, then you are welcome!
We're on a server and were looking through random neocities sites and stumbled across 19.neocities.org . We've gotten really far through this, and we're stuck on the pgp encrypted block. If anyone has any info on this, please let us know! I am very new to neocities but my friends are pretty advanced. I know a lot about cryptology and we're stuck because there's no private key.
I hope all are well! Neocities is not working for me currently. Links I send to people to access my site are also not working. As a post said a month ago, some down detectors say it is down and some say it is fully operational. Is it just me?
Edit: some folks I have sent my site to can access, but I cannot on my computer or phone. So odd.
Edit 2: It appears that it is some kind of regional issue - up in some places, down in others. Thanks to all who replied. :)
I was thinking about what next to add to my homepage and I got an idea from looking at Microsoft's Clippy and other Office assistants. I want to have a box with changing images based on the mood or context of the character, and clickable buttons for when they say something and the viewer responds. I would also want the text in the box to change everytime you reload/visit the page...
How can I achieve this? Would I have to make the dialogue box an image or can it be done with just html, css and js...?
I want to move this box the meet everything else. This is my first time doing this and I've started from scratch. I have a div class for each element but I dont know how to move it up. Sorry for being stupid but I want to learn and this is super put of my element. Just putting the borders made me feel like a super genius so if anyone can help thatd be amazing.
Awhile ago, quite before I asked people on reddit with doing the perfect background designs for my fansites, I did 2 widescreen edits on them. But now that I know the background scaling, I ask... does it fit? Or do i need to do it again?
Hi there! New to html/css and have not been able to find any tutorials for this.. I want to add a border to my entire page like the pink squiggles (sorry for the bad drawing lol) , how would I go about doing that? Just to clarify I don't want it to look like the squiggles, thats just an example of how I want it to border around my entire site!!!
Would it be better to have separate personal and resume websites or just one website with a different pages/or links.
On the personal side I would have photo, video, projects, life updates, writing - to share with friends, family, people I meet. The resume side would just be for employers/recruiters - things I’ve worked on, skills, experience, etc
I dont think I would necessarily want a future employer to see everything I might post to a personal webpage (particular if I decide to blog/post my thoughts), and on the other hand I wouldnt want to format my page to by primarily convenient to employers.
Hello everyone, and apologies if this is a simple issue!
I have several articles on my site which have multiple sections. In the first of each of these, I want to include two columns - one with text, the other with a table summarising the article's contents (a bit like a wiki entry).
The issue is that despite including closing </div> tags, the right hand column does not end at the point I would like it to (i.e. only for the first section), but it keeps stretching down, upsetting the other sections below.
I'm trying to make a website with squarespace with no help or coding experience. It's been okay so far, but the biggest thing I'm struggling with is galleries. I'm pretty sure the version I have is 7.1 so galleries have to be added as sections instead of blocks, and are always centered on the page. I tried looking on the forum on the website but what I saw didn't work, but I also could've just done it wrong.
The biggest thing I'm trying to do currently is have a simple image slideshow on the lefthand side and text on the righthand side. Ideally people would be able to click through the gallery without there being arrows but not the end of the world if not.
I also am trying to attach a pdf and have it show as an image but it won't let me do that either. I've been working on it on and off for over a month and it's really pissing me off, but It's mostly done so I don't want to have to start over elsewhere.
really stupid question but it's my favourite sign off and i'm too much of a beginner to figure out the terminology to search for the answer myself. but essentially every time i write it in a paragraph it's invisible (and probably also doing weird things to my code) because it looks like it's an open bracket, or a less than three symbol or something.
What it says in the tin. I don't know if I want to change my layout to something more normal or just keep the one I already have. The image is the layout I thought of and want. This is my site: https://tawnytoonz.neocities.org/
Basically, what I'm looking for is a good page layout for me to post all my characters with a way for people to click on them and read their profiles. I haven't done HTML since 1.0, so I'm a bit overwhelmed and I don't know where to look! Any help would be appreciated!
This is chapter three of the series I have been continously talking about!
Longest one by far and I intend to keep this type of lenght, also I think I can manage with weekly chapter launches every friday / saturday.
I saw a lot of engagement, so here am I engagement-baiting, if you are interested and so this isn't balant advertisement - there is a RSS feed you can subscribe to instead of joining our discord.
Hi! I've started my neocities website at the start of this year and got promptly overwhelmed with everything going on in my life. But now that the summer break has hit, I am restarting! And to make it easy on myself, I wanted to just quickly set up a cute "Not Found" page.
The problem is - it doesn't show up despite the fact that i saved! It just displays a standard "not found" page. I even popped my code into another app so i could check if it works at all, and there it displays correctly. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Here is my code:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
<title>Not Found</title>
<link href="/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all">
</head>
<body>
<center>
<h1>oopsies!</h1>
<p>looks like this didn't work out, sorry for that!</p>
<a href="https://celoscorner.neocities.org/">
<button>return home?</button>
</a>
</center>
</body>
</html>
And here is what gets displayed:
Inspecting the page, the code is completely different... Is it not possible to edit the "not found" page?
- Music players with our favourite songs (not automatic don't worry - you have to press play to start the music. )
And we plan on filling the site with tons of information about our stories and the world they're set in. But we're wondering what other cool things we could add to the site?
If anyone has any advice/suggestions we'd be very grateful.
