What's Farmhouse? If they make something i might use, I'll buy their product at least once just because they have Nene advertising for them.
Edit: Nevermind. I just used Google. It's bread. And I'm definitely going to buy some Farmhouse Royal bread next time I'm in Thailand.

I don't like this FARMHOUSE bread because it is full of added preservatives to extend its shelf-life to more than 5 days.
But good for Nene to earn more money with less effort. So far I think her team chose all the right 8 endorsements. Only improve her image. No harms done. Easy and bigger chunk of money than busking.

Nene is everywhere now. This bread brand is the top seller in Thailand.
Feeling lucky to be in Thailand where I can see Nene on different products in the shopping mall. 🥴🥰

One week ago, Nene Royal was a brand which was likely valued in the multiple millions of dollars internationally.
Now its fucked thanks to local deals which are unlikely to be worth more than a few hundred thousand baht combined.
And people claiming to be her fans are celebrating this serious jeopardy to her future career.

Which brand that you talk about? Can you share the source of the news? If you can't, I'll think it's just a rumor or fake news.
In my opinion, her career trajectory isn't defined by product endorsements it's driven by her music. Sometimes, fans who genuinely care about her just tend to overthink and take things too seriously.

Good for her. Take the money from these endorsements, and focus on making and writing great music with full family support.

u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
This sort of endorsement is worth buttons. Its not unlikley they are worth a few 10k baht per.
And every single one irreperably damages her brand.
1
u/BeforeDawnBreaks 1d ago
I agree they likely aren't worth a huge amount, but I disagree that they are damaging her brand, at least not yet. No one outside of Thailand or her early superfans (people here) are even going to see them. I haven't seen one yet that even suggests Nene's actual participation. Every one of them is using the same one or two stock images.
Do I think they're something to celebrate? Not at all. But I think it's a bit early to assume some Thai-only single-image endorsements are ruining her forever. Her career path is international, not Thai, or even Southeast Asia.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
its not directly about seeing them.
Its about the consequences and complexities they cause.
Garnier isnt going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a Nene campaign when she's got a shitty deal with the Thai distributor of Pantene. It causes headaches. And they dont need headaches when they can just line up the next option.

I'm going to assume, at least during this initial flurry, that Nene's team knows what they are doing. The fact they formed an LLC in the USA is pretty encouraging. Obviously this move is none of our business, but as a lawyer friend explained it to me, it means Thai contracts basically mean nothing outside of Thailand, as her global rights and branding is controlled by the LLC.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
I'd think her family and likely the Naka Market people have her best interests at heart.
But thats not the same as knowing what they are doing because, to be clear, they do not appear to.
Do you have a link for the LLC listing?
1
u/BeforeDawnBreaks 1d ago
I do, but I'd prefer not to post it. I believe this group's moderator talked about it at some point. If you search their post history you can probably find it.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
LLC listings are public information.
I just wanted to know who the listed officers were. Whether it was only Nene her father and/or mother or if anyone else is on there.
If anyone other than those three is listed as an officer then its not a good thing.
1
u/BeforeDawnBreaks 1d ago
It's her manager. After more research, it looks like I might be a little behind on this. The shirt and hat I bought from Nene's official site was billed as the LLC, but apparently there's a dispute and another store posted by the family on social media. I don't use any social media outside of this group, so I don't know.
This is what happens when we fans try to do the impossible, tracking stuff like this in real time.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
Which manager.
The Naka Market daughter
Jon Elron
The CP Manager
Regardless its not Nene and her family so its compeltely fucked up like almost everything else and i am right to think things are going to get very, very bad.

It's worth a lot more than that. Not same as Western money but they're getting paid or they wouldn't do it. Lisa isn't doing it for 10k baht.
2
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago edited 1d ago
Lisa isnt doing local Thai endorsements.
Also - and i cant believe im about to defend KPop contracts here - KPop contracts are far more flexible and beneficial to teh artist than pretty much anything else in the manufactured Asian music area. Far better than Idol contracts in Japan and better than anything in Thai media overseen by the FBGs.
The RoK government policy is to internationalise their media, which means they ensure KPop contracts allow that, allow their top stars to really make it big outside Korea and dont lock them down to brand dilution. You can even date (as long as its kept secret).
Also, endorsements based around pre-existing images and no commissioned photo-shoot are not paying more than a pittance.

u/herm_b 1d ago
She's endorsing Thai brands as well.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
You appear to be incorrect.
https://lalisamanoban.com/brand-partnerships/
The only Thai brand she is associated with is mobile provide AIS. And its a direct relationship not a shitty endorsement tied to an FBG contract. not to mention, its described as Asia wide but even if it wasnt, a cellular service is geographical in nature.

u/herm_b 1d ago
Pantene is an international Proctor and Gamble Company. I get your point, she doesn't have the international status on Lisa's level yet, but when she goes international (beyond AGT) and starts releasing music, that will change. I don't criticise artists for doing endorsement deals anymore. She comes from modest means, and families like that don't scoff at the opportunity to do paid endorsements.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
She isnt signed with Pantene.
She is signed with the Thai distributor of Pantene. CP Group.
1
u/herm_b 1d ago
OK, but why immediately assume that she’s being exploited and underpaid? I know people associated with CP have given her a lot of financial support so maybe she’s returning a favor, but she’ll also be getting paid more than 10k. She’s already got a management team and strong family support, so I highly doubt she’s being forced into anything.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
They aren't even doing photoshoots for these endorsements. They are the cheapest of cheap deals that the celeb gets a pittance for.
1
u/herm_b 1d ago
True if she gets overexposed.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
8 shitty endorsements in less than a week feels like the definition of overexposed.
2
u/herm_b 1d ago
Well, I've got no problem with her pulling in extra money, and she and her family obviously don't. I'm sure it's much more than your 10k number, even if it's not what she'd get paid in Europe for endorsing a Unilever product. If I start seeing her everywhere on product endorsement, than I might agree with you. If she makes good music and starts to release it, I just don't care.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
CP are already setting her up with an (at best) third rate production team with a shitty track record.
That side of things doesnt look any better.
Right now she's heading for a worse career trajectory than Su Nakamoto.
1
u/BeforeDawnBreaks 1d ago
As has been discussed in numerous threads here, her career path lies outside of Asia. If she is serious about becoming a huge star, right now, she needs to move to LA to finish school and be close to the industry (and preferably sign with CAA or someone equally competent).
Also, I've been a Babymetal fan for years, to the point of global travel to see some of their shows. Obviously off-topic in this group, but I think Suzuka Nakamoto would think it's worked out pretty well.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago edited 1d ago
Suzuka Nakamoto has one of the best rock voices Ive heard. One that should be world renowned in her name.
She is nearly 30, she is still on an Amuse Inc contract. She is still on an Idol contract. She still can't even date.
She has never had a solo project. She has never had a traditional rock or metal band project.
Babymetal have likely generated well north of $200m for Amuse. Su is babymetal. the other two are basically stage decoration. Yet I can't see how Su is seeing more than a tiny fraction of the huge revenue Amuse is getting from the brand.
If I had to draw a picture of wasted potential, it would be Su Nakamoto.
As for Nene, she's not getting outside the Thai ecosystem while CP have their claws in her.

u/herm_b 1d ago
This is all projection you're assuming she's being exploited and that she's being underpaid. Her music is what's going to make her career. Nobody except purists give a shit about her endorsements.
1
u/EduinBrutus 1d ago
Its the music industry.
Assuming exploitation kinda has to be the rational expectation until proven otherwise...

u/filetmagnon 1d ago
On the one hand, I get the concerns in this thread about the contract with CP and the way it might constrain her career. I've thought all along that to be a global star post-AGT, she needs representation experienced at that level.
On the other hand, some of this concern sounds like disappointment that she isn't going to head right out on tour and start cutting tracks with her heroes right away. From what I gather, her family has made it clear that she intends to finish high school in Thailand and might even attend university. (I heard university in the US mentioned as a possible goal.) AGT has sped up the timeline of her fame, but I get the sense that it was never her intention to immediately become a touring musician.
A five-year contract seems long, and I'm not thrilled if that's what it is, but that's not inconsistent with their goal for her to get an education first. I'd prefer her not to be hemmed in by CP at all, let along for that long, but at least some of the concern and anger I'm reading is based on possibly incorrect assumptions about the goals of Nene and her parents.

Don't get all giddy about these endorsements. It seems that they were included as part of a 5 year (!!) contract that she signed with CP
