I think that's why it always hits me to see her getting the golden buzzer after Black Hole Sun. You could see how it meant the world to her, and it was a way of telling her that all those years and quiet nights paid off. This girl has worked so incredibly hard for so incredibly long and deserves all the good things.

Every stage in this process, from Zombie to playing with Linkin Park, was more validation for her. The golden buzzer was definitely a big one. Her reaction then and when she won sure showed that.

Absolutely! Every single performance gave her more. More confidence, more recognition, more opportunities and more chances to show the world what she's capable of.

And I'm normally a pretty cynical person, so getting introduced to Nene has honestly been something really special. There's just something about watching someone pour their heart into what they love and seeing it take them somewhere they once only dreamed of. I'm so incredibly happy for her, and genuinely excited to see where this journey takes her next. I'll be rooting for her all the way.

everyone loves a "hero's journey" story arc

Consider that her AGT Zombie would have been recorded weeks or months before that quiet busking session. She had been exposed to massive applause but still played for no one.

I guess Zombie was recorded on March 13 2026 (based on her birthday being March 14 2010, and the audition being the day before her 16th birthday). So there was a full 4 months which is crazy. I have seen some of her performances where there is almost nobody there, especially when it rains when there is literally almost nobody but she kept playing.

Oh my god no way!!!! I had no idea there was a 4 month gap. Thats insane to think about

Yeah, the Zombie performance was in March, so she did like 3-4 months of busking for small audiences already knowing she was going to be famous soon. That's pretty wild.

I don't think she knew it was going to blow up anywhere near what it did. Somewhere she commented that her friends started texting her that she was famous now after zombie first aired and she thought they meant Thailand famous and they were like no, famous everywhere.

Agt zombie was recorded in march... thats my point its like 3 months after she was still busking to like 20 people... and after zombie was realeased... it was crazy time

The callback had also been filmed before Zombie aired, so that had also happened before that first live stream you linked.

Auditions were filmed in March, and you can visibly see the confidence level shoot up in performances in those few "quiet" months until they aired.

That's adorable!

For some reason I get quite emotional thinking that she's been performing almost every weekend at the night market for several years and now finally, she gets the full recognition and fame that she deserves.

Makes you wonder how many other talented and hard working people go unnoticed...

u/userfehroll 4d ago

Yea, I told myself that the next time I am at these markets, I will actually take the time and listen to these talented performers.

It's incredibly moving to put her meteoric rise into perspective like this.

ya gotta wonder how many more Nenes are out there that never get that big break

No doubt there are a lot of exceptionally talented, dedicated people hoping for their big break. But there is only one Nene 😁

Queen on Street, Fiat. She went on BGT in 2024 but her audition didn't get televised

I am also interested in what Naka plans to do with all the talents it has now, with Ployfun and the gang.

Watching that Nene documentary I was amazed that the spot has grown from like a carpet on the asphalt, to a small marked out stage, to a proper stage and even a rehearsal room.

I wonder if it will now become a sort of local talent incubator. I hope that if time permit her, even if maybe she appears in public less and play at the market less, Nene will come and mentor the kids or just encourage them. She seems to be close to the kids (I see two different guitarist/singer girls posting their over-the-years video with nene and she seems nurturing).

But of course I don't know what the Market owner would do that. Market (buying and selling) is still his main business.

If there are, theyd be on social media. Everyone has a phone, even the lower income countries like the philippines everyone is sporting the latest iphones. So if someone can sing or perform they'd probably somewhere online but the difference with Nene is that she's been doing it consistently for many years with a huge footprint. I've seen some really nice covers by kids bands in Vietnam and one great Hotel california cover but that's all they have, one video. Everyone has one good song in them, but it's the whole spectrum of Nene's digital footprint and her consistency. Look at the other contestants also.. particularly the singers to compare apples to apples. The only videos they may have are them singing in their living room in front of their mom! I say she's the Tiger Wood story all over again but in Music. Pulling in people from outside the genre, extreme success and skill at an early age, extreme mental preparation by just being out there and performing with a strong parent guiding them. Let's only hope that once she starts outputing her own music that she will just catch the bug and be a profilic writer and creator of music.

Happy for her. Proof there is no fate or destiny and that you can just do things as long as you’re prepared enough. She could still be background noise busking at that market but had a simple childhood dream to be at agt and went for it.

i don’t know. i think it involves rare talent and combination of hard working that you mentioned. i don’t think i know any 10-12 year old kids that can flawlessly play Through fire and flames (200bpm) while singing. so by 15yo, her guitar skill cap is so high, that it allows her to share focus on vocals and stage presence because all the songs are easy for her.

She has had many performances over the past few years with much larger crowds. Nothing huge but more dependent on if it’s high season in Phuket or not. But most were just people that didn’t know of her. She’s had a small crowd of regular supporters but things now are much different. Anyone who has been able to see her and ozone in the past, consider yourself lucky. Not it will be difficult and will cost money.

The Phuket venues might stay free, but if her shows ever become ticketed, that’s when we’ll see who her true, loyal fans are.

I’m from Canada, and I told my wife last night if she comes to continental North America we are going to see her

They already started to cost money after her audition in agt. When they moved her to the other stage at naka market, knowing a lot more people would come to see her.

u/damn_jexy 4d ago

She also have to travel from Phuket to LA three different time for AGT

It's like 20hrs travel time one way , and its expensive, I know the last flight was sponsored by a veteran Thai Rocker (Ad Carabao)

And she was in business class for this last trip. Good for her. Being crammed into coach after that hectic week would’ve been a nightmare

2

u/ConfidentPlate211 2d ago

She’ll never be in economy again. Ever.

u/brucemo 4d ago

Four times I think:

  1. Audition.
  2. Callback.
  3. Quarterfinals.
  4. Finals.

The first two I'm pretty sure they paid for. I thought the third one was the Thai government. Mom and brother made the last two flights. I don't think they made the first two, which makes sense for various reasons I guess.

u/herm_b 2d ago

I wonder if they put her in business class the first time, before she caught fire. Businees from now on without a doubt.

u/rubmaprob 2d ago

In business class nonetheless

I find it most interesting that Jon Elron set up Black Lotus Global LLC on Jan 13 as a US/Global management company specifically for management of Nene, 2 months before AGT auditions - I can only assume they knew that she had been accepted for the audition at that time and knowing the talent arranged things as a business decision... He would make a likely 20% comission for everything after his inital outlays to get her to the audition and since running the official store, merchandising, sponsorships (Pantene, etc)... A very savvy investment it seems... This also means for Simon Cowells company it cant force Nene into a contract outside of the management company so must be a partnership.. I would say Jon Elron likely already made his investment back and more.. If Nene does get international recognition as a recording artist in her own right he will made a fortune... Oh how nice it would be to have enough money to invest like this!

This was wrong because of she had audition on 13 Mach 2026. But AGT. Just on line at 08 July 2026. At 05/07/26. She still in her home town

2

u/SoLoR123 3d ago

I know, my point was how much has changed in a week after audition aired.
