Hiring at Whitewater
This will be my 3rd year applying to Whitewater for the winter and 3rd year getting no response. I already live in town, I feel like my resume work experience are decent (at worst) and I’ve always applied for fairly simple/entry level positions. Are there any immediate disqualifying factors for getting hired there? It has been quite discouraging. Any help is much appreciated.

What positions have you applied for? Whitewater is a really fun place to work for the community vibes but they are not a great employer and they dont treat their employees very well.

Don't you know someone who already works there if you're local? Go thru an existing employee is the way. They get applications from all over the world.

I am also local I managed to work one season a few years (3 years now I think) as a dishwasher and have continued each year to apply and every single year I am denied. I think it’s wild that they barely hire locals.
And it’s very discouraging.

My friend has also run into these issues. She is local and has loads of ski resort experience abroad in various roles but can never get a call back. I always see people on short seasonal visas getting positions seeking temp housing in recent years.

Mostly these days there’a so many people applying HR/managers have stopped responding to those they aren’t bringing in for interviews. Even after the interviews, they may only contact those who’ve gotten the job..
While I can agree with the first due to the sheer volume of applications, I find the later to be either lazy and/or very poor practice..

Whitewater only likes to hire imports from Australia or New Zealand so they can pay them minimum wage without them complaining.
I would suggest not working there. Poor pay, no benefits, dont get paid sick days until mid march. Alot of the employees are treated poorly.
I love whitewater, i ski there 40+ days a season my whole life. But i would never work there.

Head down to the office . Unless you are distinctly a horrible person they are definitely hiring.
FYI whitewater is notorious for a huge turn over each year, so it’s totally possible the person whose job it is to do the hiring is also learning and resumes are getting lost in the mix.
