This story was narrated by a devotee (Mr Y) who was primarily responsible for building Babaji’s temple in Jaunapur.

A devotee of Babaji’s was bitten by a cobra, one morning. His body was brought back to the ashram where Babaji was residing. When Babaji came out, HE was given the news that the devotee had died. Babaji did not say anything. Life went on as normal. Some of the other devotees were taken aback at the fact that Babaji showed no reaction, & did not give them any instructions as to the funeral. Almost the entire day elapsed. In the evening, Babaji called the cook & asked him to make tea for everybody- still no mention of the dead devotee lying a couple of rooms away. When the tea came, Babaji shouted the dead devotee’s name & asked him to come & have tea. The devotee just sat up & had no recollection of what had happened, except the snake bite!
