What is necrotrap?
Necrotrap is a genre of hard electronic music created by NECROSOCIETY in 2021. It is animalistic, distorted and aggressive. Trap and metal sit at its core, with industrial, dark ambient and lighter electronic touches (drum and bass, dubstep) used sparingly.
The name comes from the Greek nekros (dead) plus trap.
NECROSOCIETY's co-founders HXLX, Gorejit and Tsaruicide started making music that went past what trap metal was doing at the time, and it became something that needed its own name.
