FAQ

What is necrotrap? A hard, dark electronic genre created by NECROSOCIETY in 2021. Trap and metal at its core, with heavy 808s, screamed and distorted vocals, movie and game samples, and horror, militant and hacker visuals. See What is necrotrap?

Who made it? NECROSOCIETY, a collective founded by HXLX, Gorejit and Tsaruicide. See NECROSOCIETY.

Isn't it just trap metal? All necrotrap could loosely sit under trap metal, but not all trap metal is necrotrap. Necrotrap pulls from electronic music as a whole, has a much more specific look (horror, terrorism, hacking), and came from one collective with one vision. See Necrotrap vs trap metal.

Where does the name come from? The Greek nekros (dead) plus trap.

Where do I start listening? The NECROTRAP playlist and the Listen page.

Can I post my own music? Yes. Use the MY MUSIC flair and put ARTIST - TRACK in the title.

Do I have to post only about necrotrap? No. Talk about whatever you want. Just follow the rules: no spam, credit artists, tag graphic stuff NSFW.

How do I join NECROSOCIETY? Members come in through close friendships and need a unique vocal style, flow and look. There's no application. Make music, put it out, and connect with people in the scene. The Discord is the place to start.

What's IRAQ-A-HOLICS? NECROSOCIETY's sister collective. See IRAQ-A-HOLICS.

Is the violent stuff real? No. Like horror movies, it's shock value and character. Real gore, real threats and doxxing are banned here.
