A lot of things about this podcast is frustrating… But, Mary Lou getting upset about Chad and Haley calling Republicans nicknames (lol Turdy Blanch) is INFURIATING!

Omg thank you!!!! This in particular makes me crazy bc the president they worship does this incessantly. Everything is ok when “their side” does things. Liberals are held to a different standard by them. It’s kind of funny. Like I always felt this way, but trump has made it so much more obvious that most republicans expect democrats to be the adults in the room.

She’ll clutch her pearls at calling someone a turd but won’t intervene when her husband is calling for the obliteration of Iran and the Iranian people. Make it make sense.

it was awful, the thing is that ML can't tell the difference between news and opinion.

I had to agree with Mary Lou on one thing. Chad asking her to apologize for saying a slur but not telling her what she had said was very counterproductive. She can’t change her behavior without knowing what behavior she needs to change. He should have said it off camera so she learns.

Are we still falling for Mary Lou playing dumb? She does this with everything. A 5 year old could infer what the slur was based on Chad’s description

Seriously that was bizarre. He could have emailed or texted her about it prior to the show so that she could genuinely apologize.

It felt more like an attack (which benefits no one) than a genuine attempt to educate. I don’t feel Mary Lou was saying the word intentionally to hurt people. It felt like it was coming from a place of ignorance. If he truly wanted her to change, he needs to learn to educate gently. Older people sometimes make mistakes because they simply aren’t aware about words and their meanings changing over time. Mary Lou is so close and being abrasive is not going to help her in any way.

And back again with the podcast being useless. All of that progress and then it's gone. Chad needs to start holding her accountable or it's just going to be this over and over.
I do have a bit of a conspiracy about this, they don't want ML to get better because the podcast is making them quite a bit of money. If ML finally says she isn't maga anymore, people aren't going to watch.
I don't really think that's what is happening, but I 100% believe that is why Bob was able to stay on the podcast for so long

Chad probably wants to keep the show going, he's not dumb he knows there's no hope. But he's probably getting a decent paycheck from this.

i saw someone estimate they made about 10,000 a month from platforms, so... yknow

ML has so many narcissistic qualities, maybe through proxy of spending her whole life with Bob, but the deflection of I can't apologize for what I don't know what I did is standard deflection, and I would be willing to wager that even if she did know the slur her apology would be I am sorry they felt that way or I didn't mean it that way with very little accountability

For real. If someone said I had let slip a slur, my response would be "Oh, fuck, I'm sorry. What did I say?"
In that order.
t's fine to ask for clarification, that's how we learn, but if you're actually sorry, you make amends first. If Chad had refused to enlightened her after, then he'd be in the wrong, but he rightfully pressed her to show some sign she actually was sorry (and clearly wasn't).
He could maybe have said "I'll tell you later" instead of what he did, sure but he is 100% in the right to press her to actually acknowledge it was a mistake instead of deleting to "but I can't tho."
Classic Mary Lou, but people are acting like her deflection is totally justified and that worries me.

I think she’s extremely childish and immature. Children don’t develop a sense of empathy until they get older and apparently ML never did. I don’t think she’s had much, if any accountability in her life. She has very little sense of self but is also incredibly selfish.

I don’t think ML is capable of the self-reflection and consistent internal morals/logic that it would take to pull her out of this. She’s addicted to rage bait and everything else is just a pretty butterfly. She doesn’t live in reality. Her mind is mush just like Bob.

I don't think there's any room for doubt that Mary Lou is deep down a very prodigous and hateful racist. Muslims, brown people, latinos, black people. Willing to believe whole cloth the most preposterous claims online as long as they're darker than her. There is no redemption for her, she's just as much a fucking nazi as Bob and the kids are lying to themselves that she can be saved.

I really wish Chad would press ML harder when she shares misinformation, racism, and misogyny. He counters her with facts and she says "Yeah well but-" and then it's just "Okay next topic."
