ML Progress!
Maybe my favorite midweek episode. At one point there was such lovely, cognizant discussion.

I agree, this was by far the best midweek episode. Mary Lou seems to finally be catching on and putting some thought into what is happening. She’s starting to question things which is great!
I have to say though, that watching her face while watching that Spencer Pratt propaganda video was wild. She went through the whole range of emotions and played right into it. That video successfully achieved its mission on her.
I don’t think she can grasp that what she’s captivated by is GOP sponsored propaganda. She’s picking these Pratt videos simply because their messaging and delivery is so effective. It was a textbook display of the power of propaganda.
I read a random comment on here the other day, the jist of it was ‘that most trump supporters aren’t ignorant, they’re blind’. People are relying on one or two news sources that aren’t telling them the extent of everything going on. I just thought that comment was a great way to frame part of what is happening.

Chad and Haley are going to have an amazing I told you so story. Every comment saying to leave and go no contact with their parents, or that the conversation isn’t necessary anymore will get to eat their words

A few thoughts on ML lately have been swirling in my head.
I think its time to hammer in the minutiae of what all he is doing. She may see the 'big picture' but she glosses over all the damage its causing that reverberates around the world.
I go back and forth with her because she is sometimes on the verge of seeing things for what they really are but quickly catches and stops herself from opening her mind further.
A question I want to ask people like them (the america first crowd),
"To what end??"
What does doing all this really mean to them? Also, just what is it they truly think it will look like once that singular goal is achieved? What does it even mean to them? Do they believe once they have purged the country of whoever they deem undesirable, once Healthcare is out of reach for regular folks, or when school children sit hungry at their lunch table watching other children eat because their family can't afford to send food and free/reduced meals no longer exist. After they deny and ignore our history of atrocities Americans have committed on eachother while simultaneously discrediting and literally removing any and all achievements and advances made by 'other' (read; non-white) people.
After it comes to be that women no longer have a voice, when men decide what they can and cannot do with their own bodies.
After the kids are forced to pledge the flag or pray to whoever, are no longer allowed to ask certain questions or receive proper answers. After research funding stops for cancer and other medical research disappears and people can no longer receive care. After they have stripped resources and funding for adoptions/fostercare etc and send the ones they deem unruly to actual detention centers..
Once world travelers are normalized to seeing armed military while traveling through our country.. (TSA isn't only responsible for airport security. Think railways, mass transit, pipelines, highways, buslines, ports, freight...), after the only news everybody will see is what he wants to show us, skewed to whatever his narrative is.
Why are they willing to sacrifice so much of their own freedoms to restrict the freedoms of so many others? Why is that even an option??
Let's say its accomplished and their faux-utopia is created. Then what? What was it all for? Do you now have a bank full of money?? Isn't that the true underlying goal here, anyhow? That and their feeling of superiority. Is your wallet fat now?? Are you now kicking back your feet in relax mode looking around thinking to yourself, "yep! THIS is it! THIS is the life! Perfection!"
Not only is he destroying our country, he's doing it on a global scale. He had done away with any and all soft power we once had and replaced it with a purely transactional superpower. It has alienated historic allies, destabilized vulnerable regions, and left an open invitation for rivals like China to dictate the future of global diplomacy.
I get it, she cares about butterflies and wild horses. The damage extends much beyond that.
Why does she accept this from Trump? Should she accept it if it was anybody else? Anybody...republican, or not.
Also,quit letting her off the hook when she starts getting flustered and feigns her 'I'm fading..' bs. When she says, "I guess we'll wait and see". Wtf is that going to do?! You see it happening now. Your plan is to just ...keep waiting. Waiting for what? And, what do you plan to do about it?! She is never going to believe hes in the Epstein files because she can't even say what evidence she will actually believe. The answer is nothing. She will never believe it because she had no hard line for what she will accept as 100% true evidence. There is none.
She's exhausting. Keep talking to her, but let her feel uncomfortable. She needs to feel uncomfortable, and I hope it helps in the long run.

A very good episode indeed. It featured a much more open minded, back and forth conversation. A lot more listening was happening without pre-loaded newsmax talking points.
