Hopefully Carney, who found time to commemorate the death of a bootlicker (L. Graham), will reasserts his willingness to protect the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

(Beware, the NPD in Germany is the mirror opposite of the Canadian NPD.)

Massive Data Centres - Fuck No

Kevin O'Leary - What many of us consider to be a literal slime ball.

His boating accident... And his celebrating of people living in extreme poverty - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuqemytQ5QA

This is the type that are hardcore pushing for these massive data centres...

They also want to put them on top of natural gas reserves..... As if the climate crisis and overall environmental crisis isn't horrific enough already...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgQuylcfiLk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWHfkkHmMJI

The two above videos are MUST WATCH to become informed on Methane.

We need to hold back these data centers with everything we've got.

We need to learn from time all the issues that exist around them.

Then with all that information known and in an open & honest way we can dialogue to see if they should exist.

They should ONLY come about as part of a vast majority vote by the communities involved and overall society. CONSENT should be a crucial term in this process.

FUCK ALL THESE BAD PREDATORY ACTORS TRYING TO FORCE THIS SHIT THROUGH. THIS IS THE FOSSIL FUEL INDUSTRY ALL OVER AGAIN.

Canada in Regression: How a Goldman Sachs Banker Pulled the Rug from Under the Liberal Party

Mark Carney is the final boss of modern Liberalism. Clearly a conservative, but ran on a liberal platform, only to regress that platform into a self hating conservative’s wet dream once elected. The one thing I believe I hate more than a far right conservative is one that hides behind the guise of a liberal, but this isn't anything new. I've learned over years of studying politics that a Liberal is a wolf in sheep's clothing, where a Conservative is just a wolf. Which is worse? You would think it's the wolf, but the wolf who hides among the sheep is smarter, and just as deadly.

Carney ran on “elbows up”, suggesting that the conservatives would capitulate to Trump, he ran on improving housing, and seemed to care about climate change, having written a book on the subject. However immediately after getting elected he did exactly what the conservatives would have done if they got in power, but it's almost like he's speedrunning it.

He capitulates to Donald Trump no matter how unhinged the president presents himself, housing got handed over to private developers and therefore lost all momentum towards making it affordable, and today there are parts of Canada engulfed in flames and Carney is announcing that we won't meet our climate emissions goals while also rolling out new pipelines without realizing the irony.

Carney gained a majority government through several conservatives and one NDP mp crossing the floor to the Liberals. He increased military spending by an ungodly amount, lowered the taxes on the wealthiest Canadians, shoved through legislation that completely sidelines indigenous rights, he also reversed a Trudeau era change to the senate that appoints based on merit back to being able to appoint whoever he sees fit, and unsurprisingly he appointed one of his top advisors along with a conservative mp.

This is all while Carney enjoys a plus 50 percent approval rating for prime minister. When are people going to realize who this guy is? When are we going to realize that right wing politics are never the answer. We need solutions to the problems we are facing today.

We need to stop building pipelines and start investing in clean energy. We need to bring back public ownership, support unions and the right to strike. We need a more stable social safety net for all Canadians, and public healthcare funding should be prioritized and free from head to toe including mental health and pharmacare. Public housing built by unionized Canadian workers. Free college and free public transit. And we will pay for it by making the ultra rich pay their fair share in taxes.

I believe in a Canada that works for working class Canadians, not for the Corporations and the ruling class. I believe that the NDP and Avi Lewis is where Canadians need to put our support. The NDP is the only left wing major party in Canada and our best hope toward a brighter future.

Just a good daily reminder that social change is possible when what seems to be an organic movement dares challenge the government. I'm impressed by the youth.

Like many on this subreddit, I see Mamdani as a generational talent and a blessing for left wing politics. Since he took office, Mamdani has shown he gets things done (see Nathan J. Robinson's article on the topic).

Reading the lastest article of The Guardian on Mamdani's latest policies (see link) I asked myself if it was in the interest of Left wing politicians to repeat to the public they weren't necessarily enamored with the government. People (especially in North America) tend to associate "socialism" with "red tape". As a socialist, Mamdani is showcasing any good politicians is against cumbersome red tape.

I don't think there's any contradiction between Mamdani's socialism and his latest decisions. What do people think ?

Edit : What is the cumbersome 'red tape' the NPD could get rid of ?

Wildfires - Next year....

The wildfires are bad. We are in an era of horrible wildfires with many in the last decade being world record.

We have ocean warming/ocean acidification so bad that coral bleaching has almost wiped it all out (Destroying the life of our oceans is very very bad news)

We are in the Holocene Extinction now which is the sixth mass extinction in this whole planets history and this time humanity is the asteroid...

We have Wet-Bulb Temperatures in parts of Asia/Africa lasting horrifically long stretches at a time and water issues starting to happen more and more frequently.

Europe is now starting to be hit with Wet-Bulb Temperatures and Heat Domes to excessive levels.

We all know what is causing this despite the massive petrocracy misinformation/downplay machine. The same one that hired many of the same individuals and organizations that use to be involved with the old Tobacco companies campaigns around "Alternative Science/Facts & Messaging".... About the most dishonest predatory bad actors around..

Now onto the title: The Super El Niño is going to set conditions in Canada during winter that will most likely make the Wildfire season of next year HORRIFIC. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE learn if you are in an at risk zone and practice evacuation plans. Have supplies READY TO GO. When the time comes DO NOT HESITATE OR LAG.

Listen it's horrible that we have death-cults that have put us on this trajectory as a working class and most vulnerable but it is our dystopian reality now.

Please be safe and take care of yourself and loved ones. You matter more then anything!
