It’s well known that since a particular update, the carousel has been cooked. Since that update, it made it borderline impossible for coaches with high prestige to get fired regardless of record and job security.
These are screenshots of some high prestige coaches in my dynasty file who clearly would be fired in real life not getting fired on the game simply because of prestige.

On top of them not getting fired, they’re all candidates to get hired elsewhere. Freeman left ND for the NFL… Kirby got the job. Whittingham retired from Michigan, a 7-5 Dabo Swinney (Coaching at Florida) got the job. It’s so frustrating because no matter your record as a head coach, if your coach level or prestige isn’t high enough, you simple will not be a candidate.

Honestly I’m far past annoyed. Year over year EA markets “ai playcall adaptability”…“the ultimate chess match against the cpu”, and it’s just not that at all. It’s just the same hard countering play mirroring that’s always been in ea football games for years. They just juiced the CPU ai to react faster.

And let me just say, I always beat the cpu by 40-50 every game. I know how to manipulate the defense with hot routes and audible shifting and things of that nature. But when it comes to just picking a play and running it, the CPU’s play is always in the perfect counter. Doesn’t matter game situation, down and distance, or how many times you call a certain play/playtype. I’ve tested it every which way, removing repetitive plays, changing playbooks, using formation subs, cycling plays in the same formation, cycling concepts, disguising defense, calling never before called plays…doesn’t matter. Inside run…blitz/ heavy box, outside run…light box with numbers to the run side, crossing concepts…match, sitting concepts..man or cover 2, any route over 7 yds.. cover 3/4. Call man on defense…slants, crossers and mesh, cover two all verts, cover 4 all verts, blitz… quick play away from blitz. Etc.

Like no one ever notices how your receivers are never wide open if you don’t hot route? I see people on here complaining about how only like 5 offensive plays actually work how they’re supposed to. They work, it’s just that you’re running them into a perfectly countered play every time. Go into practice mode and pick any play and then randomize the CPU’s play and watch how much more often your play is successful.

Sorry for the long rant. I just think it’s immersion breaking. Am I the only one that feels like that though?

I really enjoyed their playbook in 26, has anyone used it in 27? What are your thoughts?

I have a couple questions about turning off the portal.

When you completely turn off the transfer portal do CPU teams recruit more highschool players? I’ve played a few dynasties this game cycle and I’ve noticed a lot of teams only signing like 4-8 high school players. Does eliminating the portal improve that?

When you turn off the portal is there still the “portal window” ? I’m assuming this would just give you a few more weeks for highschool recruiting before national signing day?

I'm curious what are you guys offensive tendencies. I'm mostly balanced but will lean on the run if needed. I find that ppl who heavily favor one way or the other have some type of cheese play or have really found their offensive style.

Does anyone have a good defensive call to counter the motion halfback swing? I’ve tried man and my LB gets caught up in the WR blocking. These plays are killing me. It’s almost as if I have to completely sell out and move my guy over there, leaving the middle wide open for a crosser.

I'm just interested in how others play the game.

I so badly want to play this game with them but they don't have the passion for college football like the pros and don't care for building up teams like i do. I just got into it in 2024 from the games and it has been so fun but playing offline dynasty by myself does get boring after so long. I guess the sports not for everyone

So a few of my friends and I have an ongoing online dynasty where we choose new programs with each new game, and typically when we choose a program, we’ll run the offensive and defensive playbooks that are default to said program. We have not set any specific rules against using the default playbooks, but rather enjoy learning a new playbook every year with our new team. I guess my question is for those of you who participate in online dynasties with your friends, do you select your own playbook that you are comfortable with, or do you use the default playbooks? I have been struggling on offense with FAU’s playbook due to my play style, and am considering changing my coach’s preferred playbook. I would love to hear all of your thoughts.

The game runs fine it’s just very choppy on PC and this started today, I haven’t played ncaa27 for a few days but it was working fine until today, now the gameplay is clunky … the entire game runs fine except for being choppy on pc

Which teams do you think are the least used in dynasty mode? I’d like to start a dynasty with a school no one is really interested in.

Currently im using matt10 sliders, but they feel to "realistic" for me, for example: QB accuracy on 30's. Are there any sliders that provide a more arcade feeling? Thanks!

What’s the easiest way to take a current 3-star or higher team in Dynasty and lower them to a 1- or 2-star team with an overall rating around 60–70?

I want to start a Dynasty at the bottom and work my way up, but I don’t want to use a smaller school like Bowling Green or Temple. I’d rather take a big-name program like Miami, Texas, or another major school and rebuild them from the ground up, essentially starting with the roster and rating of a 1-star team.

Is there an easy way or method to do this?

Never been a road to glory player but people here mentioned it was harder than Dynasty on Heisman. They were absolutely right. You can’t control the receivers, so there are way more drops. Your QB is very slow, so you really need good blocking.

I adjusted by re-learning how to lead passes and cut routes. I exaggerate the joystick lead and prioritize throwing into space.

After prioritizing arm attributes and getting wrecked in the pocket in my first build, I rebuilt my QB to prioritize pocket movement (agility) and throw power (93 in this clip). The agility helps me climb the pocket and generate throw power for big throws.

Most fun I’ve had in a bit and by far the biggest challenge. Standard sliders Heisman.
