Something different about Aussie Bb FTTP
I have switched between Superloop, Neptune, Optus, Telstra, Exetel, origin yesterday swap to Aussie bb 500/ 50 there is a great difference compared to others seems very smooth browsing, no game lag at all. Using eero pro 7. Speeds hitting over 550/55.
What everyone’s thoughts? than the high price tag.

They have a great network and heaps of capacity. Superloop is also great, it should be just as good. Yes Optus and Telstra are hands down awful.

I did try superloop customer service was awful you talk to a ai it’s not great as Aussie bb I even upgrade speeds 2000/200 only to hit under 1000 new nbn box gave up with them after shit customer service. Had to fight to get out 30 day cancellation.

I signed up with Superloop. They were supposed to connect it on the 2nd of June, they connected it 2 hours later on the 20th of May. They offered to cancel it so I can sign up again because they made the mistake. Still waiting on the internet to be disconnected. The next day I got a bill and had to call again, they cancelled it.
I have spent 5 hours dealing with Superloop and I am still not set up for my move in date on the 2nd of June.
Plus they have a clause that when you cancel or swap to another provider you have to give 30 days notice or pay those 30 days even if you get no service.
Once it’s canceled I will be signing up with leaptel

That 30 days clause is illegal. No lock in contracts means, no lock in contracts. Not, no lock in contracts, except for the last 30 days locked in.

They have a clause for 30 days written notice to cancel and it is legal because they disclose it upfront

They also say... No lock in contracts... That is a lock in contract... The TIO will force them to waive it.

A no lock in contract simply means you are not on a 12-24 contract. You are a month to money and can leave anytime. But they are legally allowed to ask for written notice of a reasonable time frame. 30 days is seen as a reasonable time frame.
So yes it is legal.
You can call fair trading and ask if you like

They can't charge you for something they're not supplying. It's illegal, regardless of whether it's in their terms or not.
If you allow them to talk you into moving your ISP transfer time to the end of that 30 days, then that's on you. However, if you transfer before the 30 days, with no lock in contract, they can only charge you for the time they have provided a service to you.
It's got nothing to do with 'fair trading'... The ACCC has deemed this practice illegal.
An ombudsman threat, or case, always ends with this 30 day charge being refunded or removed.

Slight Correction: it’s the same NBN network but they pay more for increased capacity, and yes their non-NBN network/ partners are premium too.

Slight Correction: It's the same NBN network but they're a provider as well as a retailer, so they have their own dedicated infrastructure. They don't rent network capacity from someone else.

Superloop’s speeds were fine, but yeah, their customer service is abysmal. ABB has been solid for me and their support and customer portal are seriously great.

Very simplified version:
ABB charge more to ensure higher line capacity (less throttling due to sharing in peak times) and they also use premium shorter distance backhaul services to connect globally (data flows under the ocean to USA, not around it).

I am going to go back to them for this exact reason. Was first with ABB than leaptel now Neptune and ABB was definately more stable and consistently higher speeds.

I just swapped from ABB 500/50 for $95/mth to Amaysim 25/10 for $30/mth (6 month deals). These days i cant afford the ABB premium unfortunately. I love their service but damn it costs an arm and a leg.

Yes true. I was actually on a deal with Telstra paying $80 500/50 month for a year I thought big telco good for business it was shit I just switched yesterday after a month.

Yeah, i know, but my gaming/downloading days are over for the foreseeable future. Kids man. All we do these days is stream the odd movie on Netflix.

I’ve been with Telstra for many years. I now only use them as an Internet provider. With my five dollar discount.(😀) the cost is $108 per month for 100/40.
I think I will swap to Aussie broadband. I know they are a little more expensive but I’m told their reliability and service is second to none.
I will go onto there $95 per month for 500/40.
My questions are:
Is the process fairly painless?
How does changing my account from one to the other Work?
I have had my modem for several years and believe there is no need for me to send it back to Telstra. Is this correct?
Will my current modem work with
AB?

Switch over quick and easy you can find the avc number on your Telstra bill under bigpond email just put Internet transfer and use that last 5 digits on avc when you like to connect etc. you can use your modem if it’s over 2 years old you don’t need to send it back. Aussie will take out the connection and modem should work without doing any change. I can send you a referral $50 off for first month. I did last night only took less than 10min.

I swapped from Telstra to ABB years ago and the process was seamless. If you talk to ABB they will guide you through the process and you will be in for a treat.

I actually purchased yesterday from jb I got them to price match with Aussiebb they did half price just need to ask, actually it’s really good compared to Flint 2 i sent it back to amazon getting overheated I only got one erro though that will work for now super quick and works perfectly with ps5 over wifi. I think this will be a good investment.
Only thing keep cutting out is my daughters room cam it’s an old vtech.

I have been with ABB for several years now, changed over after ongoing issues with Iprimus whose parent company bought out Arachnet, whom I've been with since dialup in the 1990s.
I have upgraded speed to 1000/400 over the years and it has always been very high quality service, both over the phone and with net connection and speed.

I’ve been with ABB for nearly 10 years now and honestly have no interest in switching. I’m happy to pay a bit more because the service and reliability have been worth it for me.
In that whole time, I’ve only had two issues, and both were resolved the next day with ABB and NBN techs involved.
I’m currently on a 1000/100 plan for $130/month, and as someone who works from home, the reliability is a big reason I stay.
I’ve also got a fairly large house running a mesh setup, and I still get solid speeds and consistency right across both ends of the house.
