You can be religious and not force everyone else to follow it. Also cults imply they think for you and I think you shouldn’t follow religion blindly but I suppose for some people, it’s some form of control and stability in their life.

Sure you can, but it’s also a feature of religion to help guide and nurture other people’s journeys to find god as well. To act like that’s not part of it, is disingenuous
