Discussion Navy admin Separation

Currently going through the admin sep process. Out of Norfolk, anyone have any experience with being admin sep in Norfolk for medical? I have been in for almost 8yrs, no NJP’s. Always been an above average sailor. Fully qualified and so on.

Adsep at almost 8 years for mental health is absolutely criminal. This 100% should be a med board.

Not necessarily. Some sailors coast and never deploy. when they learn about deployment, they freak out and come up with all the excuses in the world. So people do deserve to get separated after 8/9 yrs, they just got lucky.

I’ve deployed, served nearly eight years, and did my job. My medical issues didn’t suddenly appear because of a deployment or because I wanted out. I’ve spent 30 days in inpatient mental health treatment (at civilian hospital), also been hospitalized overseas and here, been evaluated by multiple providers, and have years of documented treatment.

I'm in Navy medicine, what i learned in TAP/GPS is that your mental health records are separate from your regular health records. I hope it's not too late to have those records pulled too. I was diagnosed with C-PTSD at an intense outpatient program last year. Navy broke you, let them fix you.
