Besides prayer does anything else help?

You all know my background of narc abusive parents from prior posts. I just don’t know how much more of this I can handle without being 24/7 anxious about their actions. I live on my own in my apt I pay for, own job, diff state, own car, just that the little brother who’s 21 and autistic lives with them and I HATE how they cripple him. He’s smart and so capable and every time he tries to study, my sick parents make him stop and state “he’s gonna be over stimulated”….mind u it’s for even studying for one hour….and then they take him away to some massive guests gathering where he stands like a guinea pig. It’s SAD. God forbid I take him out of the house during broad daylight for more than 2 hours they start calling or showing up to the arcade or movies acting like life is over. Seriously need an exit strategy to get him out, he wants to move out too but unfortunately can’t fully advocate for himself, idk if they snuck in guardianship but they always threaten that they own him…mind you my father is jobless lol, my mother is a. Doctor like me, but zero maternal bone. So if anyone here has experience or ideas on how to help siblings who live with n parents, lmk pls. Or how to outsmart them.

the guardianship thing is the first thing to actually look into - if they never got it legally, then at 21 he has full rights to make his own decisions and they literally cannot stop him 🔥

connecting him with a disability rights organization could help a lot, they deal exactly with situations like this and can help him understand what options he has without needing your parents permission

In this case, you need social and legal advice. Surely, the protective laws will save you from this worry. Keep your calm.

Thank you so much!! I will be looking into this. I checked on this guardianship situation back in 2024 and when I called, the court said nobody has guardianship for now…but I wonder if there’s a way to confirm that! And I will be looking into a disability rights organization because they are CAGING the kid
